bama tune with 87 octane

anyone running a bama tune with regular unleaded 87 octane? i'm getting my tuner soon, just curious if everyone goes to mid-grade or premium, or if anyone is still at 87. if you are still at 87, are you noticing any gains, or do you need to go higher quality fuel for gains?

It's useless to run a higher octane than your tune. Just run 87 with 87 tune.

I'm running the 87P tune right now. Noticeable gains over stock but definitely less than the 93R or 93H tunes. The 93 tunes are intoxicating. I switched to the lower tune cause 87 is 60 cents less a gallon where I'm at and I drive nearly 100 miles each day. All about saving money in my house.

I run 87street, 87performance and 93 Race. I never come out of race. The only time I run another tune is 87 street for a week before I have to do emission testing.

This should tail you I have and obsession with 93 Race. You can definitely feel the difference. If you still run 87 on race you are not tapping into its true potential. That's just my opinion. At the end of the day it's all about what makes you the happiest

Amen to that! I drive about 300 to 400 miles a week myself. I currently have the 93 MPT tune. While that really woke the car up performance wise, it is placing a large hole in my wallet when I have to tank up 3 times a week with the high octane stuff. I bought the V6 primarily for the reason that it could get near 30 MPG...I haven't seen that in 2 years now!

Yeah you'll tell a difference. Make sure you have the octane ratings available before you get new tunes.

You'll definitely notice huge gains over stock, even with our 87 Octane tunes. However the higher the octane you run, the more aggressive we can make your tune! So you'll definitely see the most noticeable gains with a 93 Octane race tune.

I honestly don't think you can go wrong. There's absolutely nothing wrong with running an 87 Street tune if you'd like to! Just let the Bama team know what tune you'd like to run and we'll definitely get you squared away.

I hope this helps. You can reach the Bama team at the contact information below in my signature!

Question, gonna put 93 in tonight and my tank is almost empty now of 91. Can I just pit some in and tune the 93 race tune right away or should I wait a couple of days?

For real? Now do I have to go back to stock first, then load the 93? I'm kinda surprised it didn't come with more instructions. Thx Kona.

No need to revert back to stock bro. Just plug in and upload the 93 tune. Only load car back to stock if you plan to update performance tuner by connecting it to the laptop or uploading new tune into the tuner from the laptop.

Change back and forth tunes all day long bro and no need to revert back to stock.

Well I can definitely make it rev up real quick without that jump feeling and without even accelerating at all if that makes sense it definitely pulls harder trust me if you go 87 street you will not be disappointed haha maybe the race is better but for cheaper gas it is what it is. not sure on mpg increase I literally can not stop driving aggressively since I got it hahaha
