Drop weight, increase fuel octane, tune up, a tune, increase aerodynamics (drop weight and lower), don't use the a/c as much. All little things but they add up.

I thought about lowering it and a tune. Its still under warranty though. The springs are ford racing so that helps in away.

I'm thinking its around 32 right now I haven't really took it on a trip. I usu drive from Memphis to Birmingham for drill and its all highway. I was just trying to gain some ideas if it didn't get good mpg. I'm ok with 32 just thought I could squeeze put a little more.

I think with a tune, you'll see the most mpg gains. I got an economy tune on my f150 and it went from 13mpg to 17. I was pretty happy with that. I didn't even change my driving habits.

Another thing, gears. Drop to a smaller rear gear ratio and you'll see some mpg improvements. But gears will reduce your acceleration rate so there's a bit of a tradeoff.

Using higher octane to obtain better fuel mileage is a trade off; is the money spent on the higher octane going to make the better MPG a money saver? If paying 20 cents more per gallon of gas nets you one, maybe two miles per gallon, is that a cost savings?

Well, if you look at it in that perspective, a tuner cost 300 and umpteen dollars for a couple extra mpg's a mile. How long would that take to pay itself off? Same thing with gears.

I guess weight reduction would be the only positive increase in mpg's. So I guess op should gut his trunk and interior and go on a diet. Lol, jk op.

Yep. In some cases, you can get extra power, and not nessesarily effect the fuel mileage; others, it's a trade off. Most of the time, mileage suffers due to the right swelling foot syndrum.

I don't know what gear is in it now but I'm not really doing mods like that. I may put a cold air, tune, and lower it in the future. Its actually pretty quick for a v6 I was surprised but this car is mainly my dd.

There is a little white paper tag on the right side of the rear end pumpkin. It has the rear gear ratio on it.

If you wanna get crazy, getting new, lighter exhaust, new 1 piece driveshaft, take out your back seats, cold air intake, tune (93 octane,) and try to accelerate only when going downhill, then use the gained momentum to ease uphill. Lower it, and I forgot, getting an off road midpipe will be lighter. This is obviously not going to be practical, but hey, you asked.

I get around 22-24 with my city and highway and i drive with a heavy foot and i am more than happy with that mpg. 32 is awesome, i would be very happy with that, but i like to drive fast

Mileage, shmileage. Drive it like ya stole it. LMAO. Seriously, my combined is averaging 26 mpg overall and I'm happy with that. That includes city, highway and the occasional spirited moment

Don't push down on the gas peddle. Jk

I can not keep it above 30 without going 65 and lightly touching the throttle and having a little downhill slope.

I would be dancing if I could average 32. Best I have ever managed was 29 on an interstate drive and I was trying to attain good mpg on that trip.

I'm having issues with my 93h at the moment but I got my best tank after tune, cai, lths of that helps.

Just the cai did nothing. Adding the tune helped and after lths I "was" getting the best averages since I bought it. Data logging to fix my 93H to get back what I had hopefully.

When I'm driving a car I stole, I drive very cautious so that I don't draw attention to myself.

It's a mustang. Drive it!!! If your main concern was mpg. You could get a Prius

I have an airaid, stock tune, 93 octane fuel, GT front end to run cooler. Michelin defender tires (not stockers) and I get a rough 35 mpg at 70. 36mpg at 65. I don't use a/c mainly a crack in the window to hear my roush exhaust. Can't wait to see how much I can get on my 87 street tune.
