I hear 4.10s are great for an auto but to much for a manual. I wanted 4.10 but probably going to play it safe with 3.73s. (Manual)

I'm on the fence for 3.73's and 4.10's for a manual as well.

If any part of you wants 4.10s then you will be super disappointed with the 3.73s.

Lol, I don't want to regret it either way. I know 3.73s will be tons better than the crappy 2.73s that I have now, but 4.10s could be a little too much or be exactly what I've wanted. So now I'm on the fence again thanks a lot lol. Jk jk. At least I still have a few more months before deciding, thats on top of the 8 months I've already researched. Decisions decisions. I need to find a good YouTube vid with a manual 3.7 with 4.10s. You know of any?

You need to have more fun with ur car then lol 21mpg means granny driving everywhere you go! But autos do get metter mpg right off the bat just cuz the computer shifts early for you and puts it into overdrive. I get 23mpg with my 373s on my street tune. But I dont floor it or have fun in my 3.7 anymore. I save that for the 5.0 which gets 13-16mpg alllll the time lmfao

Pretty sure gas mileage is going to suck no matter what gear ratio if you put your foot down. Might as well go faster. but I would consider the 1 piece driveshaft if you get 4.10s.

If you plan to do any highway driving, your RPM's will be much higher with 4:10's

But if your a street cruiser, then you have your answers above.

With my 3;73 gears doing 80 mph puts the rpm's in area of 2500-2600. I don't think with 4:10 gears it would be that much higher on rpm's at 80 mph. I'm guessing 2800 rpm's at 80 mph with 4:10 gears.

I had a 90 5.0 when it was new I could get 30 mpg it had 2.73 or something like that , at 75 mph I was under 2000 rpm I made many long trips to Florida she had like 235,000 miles when I took her off the road ,the trade off for speed just is not worth the mpg I love this V6 its a 2013 its as fast as I need then I'm a lot older now a few things like a fuel filter you cant change & no dip stick sucks but once I get to 75,000 miles I will swap the tranny pan for one that hold an extra 2 quarts & comes with a dip stick I still am amazed at all this horse power from this V6, Ford has a winner with this new Mustang I did drive the new 5.0 & must say it as fast or faster then some of the GTO's & other cars I had over the years & I had a lot , sad as gas was cheap so no one ever even talked about MPG ........

If you want the most performance out of your V6 model then you need at least 3:73 gears and 4:10's would be delightful. The biggest thing our V6's lack is torque. That's where the V6 falls short in performance. The HP is great, but falls flat on it's face with its torque. Its that off the line and lower speed acceleration where the issue lies with performance.

The 3:73 or 4:10's completely change the low end. Granted it does not actually add rwtq but its a torque multiplier and it gets one way quicker in your power band. With 4:10 gears you will shoot off from a dead stop quicker and more throw back in seat than compared to a 5.0 with 3:15 gears. The gearing makes a huge difference. Its not all about HP and torque numbers that get you the most performance.

There really should be nothing to think about. Getting rid of those fuel economy 2:73 gears is a must for folks that want way more performance out of there sixer. The fact that one is thinking about changing gears means one wants more performance and for around 600 bucks , gears is hands down the best modification to accomplish said performance.

Stop debating bro, you will get 20 different opinions on which gears to get but I think majority will agree on this one fact. If you want better acceleration then get new gears. You will not regret 4:10's with our 6 speed automatic. You will not regret 3:73 gears. You will love your new found power of your V6 when in reality no additional rwhp or rwtq was made.
