So all you added was pistons and rods. That's it. No other forged parts. What brand pistons and rods? Respectfully, what is the cost to purchase the pistons and rods? Where did you buy them? What place of business?

The 3.7's can be bad ***. You don't need to spend a fortune in mods to make it a really fast stang

Yes your right. And not yet after the first of the year I will be adding a single turbo to it. And shoot for 750 with the turbo, and 900+ with the bottle

Does anybody know what the most safe rwhp the 3.7 can handle assuming you do forged internals? MMR sells an entire forged kit for 1,950 dollars which includes a forged crankshaft, forged pistons, forged rods plus all the install hardware and it will handle up too 1200 rwhp. Assuming one installed this entire forged kit into our 3.7 engine how much boost could you run safely to the engine. Can we get 600 rwhp out of our 3.7 engine safely with the forged internals?

I read a few times that up to 500 rwhp is ok with the stock transmission and stock 4.6 motor but not running more than 10 psi of boost with a supercharger.
Of course forged internals add a great safety factor to the motor. But this adds $$$$.

Yes with a procharger you can do it for sure. Solobusa on all ford mustangs had been running his car on stock internals at 550 rwhp for a while on a road course before it popped. I don't remember why. The thread is up on that forum.

He was running 15 psi and revving over 7k.

Contact clamphier
He works for a shop that is tearing down the 3.7 to build parts for it. Message him and ask away!!!

I think the factory internals will only hold around 425 rwhp and at 8 pounds boost. If he was up 550 rwhp no wonder the engine blew. Lol. I was thinking of MMR who has an entire forged internal kit that holds up to 1200 rwhp. Complete with forged crankshaft, pistons, rods and all for under 2k. Honestly, the thought of a 600 plus rwhp v6 is freaking getting the blood pumping down into the loins. Lmao. I wonder what 20 pounds of boost on the procharger kit would dyno for? Can the 3.7 engine safely handle that much rwhp with being fully forged

When I get around to building, I'm gonna forge it, and cyro treat it...
It'll be $$$$ but well worth it

Its not always about who has the biggest hp anyone can be a dyno queen. You need suspension and traction to back up ur HP Output. No point in having all the power in the world if u can plant it to the ground.

^ My condolences to you and your family for the passing of your grandfather. I hope your sister is okay with her cancer. Hopefully no caner cells had migrated to any other parts of the body and chemotherapy or radiation will not be needed. I completely understand how stressful for a family it can be. I am a cancer survivor myself and been 2 1/2 years of remission. I had testicular cancer and went through 20 rounds of chemotherapy because I was stage 2.

Glad to have you back and hope all goes well with your sister.

Thanks buddy! Yea we're all taking it one step at a time just getting through this as a family. Best way to do it in my book. She has yet to start the Chemo but she shall soon. Luckily she has us for support and I always lend her my car to cheer her up since she feels "like a badass" when she drives it.

Tell your sister to hang in there. Chemotherapy is rough but she will get through it. I went for my Chemotherapy Monday thru Friday , approximately 4 1/2 hours each day. Four rounds, twenty cycles. It sucked but I got through it. I was 36 years old at the time and now I'm 39 and healthy.

if my parents would let me do the upgrades I want, I'd be at about 500 to the wheels for about $2,500 still NA. But, they want to keep the warranties... /:

But then my MPG would be crap, because the upgrades I want reach significant gain over stock from 4000-6500 RPM's
