Faux gas cap

What makes me love the Mustang, the all American car, is all the fun toys you can put on it to make it "my baby". So ebay surfing and notice they have a faux gas cap and faux gas cap deck lid that has the word convertible under the tri-bar pony. I have a convertible with the normal faux cap. I do not want the deck lid because I have a custom stripe, but the deck lid is 1/2 the price of the individual faux gas cap. Not willing to pay $150 for a plastic cap......do you think I could buy the deck lid that has the cap built in and Frankenstein/take apart the the deck lid and swap out pieces to get what I want at 1/2 the price. And even resell the decklid with just the regular tri-bar pony........

Absolutely! You'll spend a few dollars more on 3M tape, but you'll have a unique part for your car, and can sell the extra, to minimize costs. Sounds like a win/win, to me.

Seems silly to spend so much effort on something that no one will notice but me, but hey, it's fun

How are these pics coming out upside down? If it's attention to them, it worked!

Anybody know if the convertible wording on the '13-14 badges is removable? Just ordered one off eBay for $20 that says convertible, but I have a coupe

I have a faux gas cap just taken off my 2012 if you are interested. Maybe you could dremel out the convertible, but it may not look clean
