Same problem with my rear axle vent gushing oil. Had to buy it and do it myself. Not a big deal with a lift in the garage.

Knowledge is good (remember Animal House?). Provide the TSP to the service advisor next time you visit. Simply print it out and present he/she with it.

Right now my front end is wailing away when I turn at low speeds. Not sure what it is but what I did do about my valve is look up the part number, went to said dealership that said they would charge to have the tsb fixed, and ordered the part and I said, I have a lift and can do a better job, thanks for having the part on hand. Not a fan of the ford dealers in Alabama besides the one I bought my car from, 2 hours away; long Lewis ford in Hoover, AL.

Strange. I need to look into this. My dealership explained TSB's as a "silent recall", meaning an auto manufacturer does not recall a vehicle to make the repair, but if a customer comes in and complains about a problem, and a TSB is issued as a repair, then the dealership performs the TSB, and at no charge (at least by my dealership). Some dealerships will pull the TSB list and perform the repairs on vehicles that are in for other service repairs. This happened on my 2005 F150; I took it in to have the rear end fluid serviced, and the dealership performed a TSB on the truck while it was there, as their records showed it had not been done.

The Toyota dealer I work for handles TSBs this way. They always check for them and then repair whatever it is. I was a little confused when I was told it had to be within warranty...

Strange I've got the creak/squeaking noise on my 2014 V6. Already took it in twice for this and both times it has been replaced part for part. The dealership never did show any TSB work done. They just told me the creaking/squeaking was normal. Friday I'll be heading there with this new info.

I know you gave us a lot of info but is there new TSB'S now? And thanks for the info bucko

I'm lucky the service peeps are pretty decent, the service manager is the one I have pretty good contact with. They only messed up on not doing the TSB from the start.

Awesome, Gracias

I keep reading online that TSBs are only free under warranty and Recalls are free no matter what.

Edmunds is where I read
