DOHC 4V 6.2??

Who else is hoping ford repeats themselves like they did with the 5.4 starting out as truck motor then turning into a mustang engine but this time with the 6.2?

I think the 6.2 was pretty much a new motor because the 5.8 goes back to the original 5.4 SOHC 2v in the 1997 f-150...the triton motor

It's a dirty job but someone has to do it...

The Raptor engine. I thought about this a while back and couldn't find any good specs to be able to tell the difference between a 6.2 and a 5.0.
Of course, that would be the logical engine for the next "Super Mustang". Providing that it fits. The current Raptor engine only has 411 hp , though, I'm sure that's the tune...

You couldn't find any differences? They're very different motors! And yeah it's a very conservative engine

I couldn't find the specifications to be able to tell any difference between the two.

Well for starters one is a 5.0L and the other is a 6.2L along with the 5.0 being a 4V DOHC and the 6.2 being a SOHC 2V

Well I found out a little more about the engine. Yes, a 2 valve (that kinda sucks) . In Australia, they call it the "Boss". It replaced the V10 so it is apparently Fords new "big block" gas engine.
Roush has already been fooling around with a 7.0 litre version that they have dubbed "777"... 7 litres, 700 hp, at 7000 rpms. Naturally aspirated.
Ford has an E85 powered engine that they claim has pulled 800 hp, again, naturally aspirated.
As I suspected, they've already been working on the next "Super Stang".

Cool

A couple of days ago I was thinking it is about time Ford made an aluminum block version of the Raptor engine. It probably would not be such a high horsepower engine as the 5.8 liter engine, but it would be a torque monster. Love to see an aluminum 6.2 liter in the new Mustang.

The 6.2 is a fat motor- it weighs a ton and would pull that car around trying to turn it

Nice. Upgrading from '08 v6 to a '15 GT when they launch. The suspense is killing me

That's why it'd be aluminum...
