But the question is... will LPF provide a canned tune? Or do you have to get it dyno'd tuned... not all shops want to tune a turbo V6...

You can't drive around on a canned tune that's just to get you to a shop. The computers and transmission are the same as the 5.0s so if the do 5.0s they shouldn't have a problem. We offer a basic tune but only under Diablo we don't do sct

Did you mean, "you CAN drive around on a canned tune"?

Not all shops that tune V8's tune V6s... They basically don't want to pay extra cost for V6 license...

Also, a dyno tune will be an extra expense...

Yes, they do! I would most likely go that route... Very happy with my MPT tune... unfortunately my all time favorite tuner no longer does V6s...

It's 600$ though so Idk if it would be better to just go with a dump tune

The only thing you would have to ditch would be your CAI for obvious reasons. And also need to get a tune to handle the FI setup. Other then that the only thing you would want to upgrade is the driveshaft. Although eventually you will want to do suspension and wider tires if you want traction.

A can tune only gets you so far every car is different and reacts differently and you should always get a dyno tune. All forced induction you have to get a dyno tune, if you used a can tune that's really dangerous and I wouldn't suggest it at all.

Just a driveshaft would be suggested. No dyno numbers yet

Even the pro charger guys that get them eventually get a dyno tune. Canned tunes aren't that great.

They specifically say in them strictly used to get to the dyno..... with the turbo you can get to the dyno anyways because it doesn't use the gas till you get on it just gave to drive like a normal person

Actually... i'm assuming you are putting in larger injectors... and if that's the case the car may not start or run so horrible you can't drive it to the dyno...

Also with places like MPT you start with a canned tune and then refine it with datalogs.... remote tuning.... not as convenient as having the tuner right their with the car but is is doable... My places will use the dyno to get the tune close and then do some street data logs to fine tune the tune... pun intended...

I put bigger injectors in it and it ran with the 93 performance tune from bama. If not you can adjust the programmer enough to do it.

Yea but if you blow up on the first tune you are screwed so remote tuning isn't my favorite but to each his own and it's the same price so might as well get a dyno tune

I live in a remote area... nearest tuner is probably a couple hours away...

I wasn't going to go FI in this car because of the 13.49 convertible rule... but seeing as the local track let a convertible run 11's with no cage, i'm rethinking it... LOL

Or you could do what I'm doing..
Install everything minus injectors, and put them in when you get to the tuner.

Yea that works too takes like 15 minutes in our cars. I've changed mine a few times so I've become pretty proficient at it. Seems like most tracks are becoming more lenient!

Just messing with you Connor! Yes, it is Chris with the LineX 3.7 in FL. I yanked out the nitrous and am starting to install a custom turbo setup. Forged engine should be rolling out of MPR any day, tranny and turbo are on standby awaiting it for install...
I do not plan on getting to Solo's level anytime soon, but certainly past what you will do on stock internals out of the gate
