3.7 Antifreeze smells awful

I know because I smelled something on the way home. I thought I had just driven past something. When I got home I parked in the garage. I went to the garage about 20 minutes later to get something out of my car. Smelled it again - realized it was the car. Looked under and saw a puddle beneath what looks like the starter. Backed up and checked to be sure what it was.

Going to the dealer in the morning. My wife is really giving me crap as my car has had multiple problems in the 8000 miles I have owned it (22,000 total). She keeps telling me how my car has been in the shop so much more than her Toyota in 50,000 miles. I know it is true and I drove 3 Toyotas before I bought the Mustang. I worried about this...but the Mustang is SO much more fun. I hope the problems don't continue to occur.

That said, has anyone else had similar issues? What was it? I am going to the dealer in the morning.

Maybe the water pump is leaking? My buddies car has the same problem. His water pump started leaking a lot to the point the tank was empty. Ford is replacing it now

If the troubles with ur car are being fixed free I don't see why you'd complain? Like unless it's constantly messing up then yea but if it's a few non major issues that are resolved free I don't mind.

Is this when the reservoir tank up top is leaking fluid? Cause apparently mine was empty when we bought it and 2 years later I filled it up.

Maybe at 22,000 miles when I bought it, the water pump was replaced and they forgot to fill up the coolant reservoir.

Could be something as simple as a clamp (although Ford uses a "spring" type clamp that cannot be tightened), or a hoce that got damaged somehow.
If it's mor serious, such as a water pump or gasket failure, I'd say this would be covered under warranty.

Keep us informed of what they find.
