Resonator placement

Already pretty sure where I want to put them. I have a '12 V6 with full Borla set up with Pypes axle backs and just got my resonators in. Just curious if anyone has experience with this, on where to install them for best sound quality?

Mine were installed in my OTA pipe right after where the x pipe meets the OTA pipes. There's a bracket that connects the x pipe & the OTA pipe..mine were right after that bracket on the OTA pipes! Does that make sense? Haha.

So you left the tip of the OTA pipes on the resonators to connect to the x pipe?

Yes. I attached a pic (sorry for the low quality I just took a pic of my computer screen) basically they kept a piece to connect to the x pipe & then it goes almost up to where it starts to bend up over the axle! Urs might be shorter because mine where 22 or 24 in. Hope it helps.

Quiets down the exhaust a bit & makes it deeper & less raspy! They're good combined with headers &/or X pipe!

Nothing noticeable. It's basically like a muffler.

Ya. Very flat sounding and linear in video. I pull into lots all the time and all I hear even from 5.0 guys is wow that actually sounds great .

The resonators just by themselves sounded pretty great to be honest and in some rpm ranges I liked them better but I needed tips outback and wanted it a tiny bit deeper. Followed the advise of others here that have headers and resonators and the Pype bombs. If I take it to the track I could easily just swap the bombs out for delete tips .

Yeah, most common thing I get is, is that a GT? ( Mostly because how loud it is and I've removed all emblems while blacking it out)

I love it. Definitely is ridiculously loud above 3K RPMs, but normal driving and early shifting, you can hardly tell in the cabin. I'm just happy to ditch the raspy tone.

I did notice though, on the way home, it kind of rattles my dash a bit... Maybe because it's deeper?

Yes those will work! Any resonator & glass pack muffler is basically the same thing! The longer the resonator the deeper/quieter/less raspy it makes it! Look for at least a 18-20inch long!

NP! Also make sure the resonator is 18" & not the overall length because overall length included the inlet/outles!

They assist in eliminating drone; an anoying "hum" you can get in the cabin during certain speeds, such as cruizing. It's a hard sound to describe, but once you've experienced it, you'll know what it is!
