How big a burnout did you do exactly? Lol, have you tried pulling it up with your hand? Is there a lot of play now?

It might be ok. After you pulled it back up, did it stay up?

When your hard on the clutch it tends to happen. I've seen this on mainly on 3.7s mine used to get a lil sticky when I was doing sprinted driving. Changed the clutch line and it doesn't do it anymore.

It's the junk clutch and pressure plate Ford installed into these cars. Banging gears will often get the same result. At this time there is no fix from Ford as they know about the issue but have yet to issue a TSB about it. Supposedly when I talked to an engineer from Ford he said they know about the issue and are working to get it resolved.

He stated the fix should be out around now.

I did have a similar issue when my car was new. Maybe it happened once or twice but that's been about it.
