Fart-can-esque sound.

Since you're running an off-road x pipe I would go with a quiet muffler like the borla touring or magnaflow street and some 18 inch resonators. I think that would sound great

Yeah Roush axlebacks are for people who just want to be obnoxiously loud (aka ******bags.) OP you're better off going with the Borla S-Types. Nice deep sound and not as raspy as the ATAKs.

It's only ****ty if it's a 3.7 that's too loud cuz it has a weird sound. Even mine can't compare to my 5.0 with my exhaust dumped. I love my 3.7 but it can't come near my coyote

Hey man no need to jump down my throat about it. If I came off sounding a bit like an a-hole then I apologize. I was merely stating my opinion that Roush axlebacks seem particularly raspy (especially when combined with an O/R x-pipe or longtubes.) I just think there are better sounding exhausts out there. Personally I don't like Roush but to each his own.

The Roush axle backs do sound horrid and like crap. Its just loud noise and that's it. Sounds like garbage and that's on a good day. Of course , that's just my opinion and perspective.

If someone gave me a set for free I wouldn't put them on.

I get nothing but compliments, and I love them but hey that's just me. Imo mustangs are meant to be heard, and apparently there are many who do with a 95℅ like on AM from customers but hey everyone has their opinion.

Everybody has their own preferences.. I've seen quite a few people like them, and also quite a few not like them. Whatever floats your boat, man.

I have heard the exact opposite about the Roush axelbacks. I love the sound I have heard, but I get along with my neighbors great now. Wouldnt want to mess that up with new pipes. Your personal opinion... too loud for a congested subdivision, or tolerable?

I agree with you.

I see no reason to insult people with roush. I personally have roush and even though all the complications I have been having with them I love the sound and I do also get a LOT of compliments!

+1, Everyone has an opinion on exhaust notes, but there's no need to insult anyone. He did clarify that he didn't mean it like that to his credit. I hope you get the problem figured out, and after about 2k they will tone down just a little once you get some carbon build up.

I was going to go LTS with a catted x and my Roush but its just a ridiculously loud mess from what I can gather on youtube. So this was what I was going to go with this spring that I thought sounded awesome...... But my wife hated the tingy hollow sound, but its still something I might consider next year. Lol.

I'm really looking forward to someone picking up the MAC prochamber so we can all get some ideas on how much it helps the sound. I have really high expectations, don't know why either.

For those who have Roush axle backs I mean no disrespect by my comments. I am just not a fan of their pitch and its most displeasing too my ears. This is just my own personal preference and clearly people have other views.

We had a guy in my local mustang club who had a 2013 3.7 with long tube headers, off road x pipe and Roush axle backs. It was absolutely horrible and just silly loud. Not an aggressive rumble loud, but a high pitch wanting too puncture my ear drums horrid loud. Nobody in our club liked the way his set up sounded and in fact he would get his balls busted on how god awful it sound. With that said, dude loved it and it was his car so in the end that's all that mattered.

I personally think the Flowmaster exhausts are the best sounding exhaust set ups for mustangs. My car has an amazing rumble at start up and amazing at WOT. Combined with my long tubes and off road x pipe my Flowmaster force II axle backs are pure sex. To hear the car accelerate is a thrill every time.

Haha, Kona you're a funny guy. On a serious note though, that's one nasty sounding V6 (the good kind of nasty). I can definitely still tell it's a sixxer still but it sounds sick.

Yes sir. Two glass pack resonators welded on. Needed it. Way too much interior drone prior to them. Well worth it.

Thought so..I think anyone with LTs needs resonators! The difference between resonators with my old 3.7 set up was huge it went from obnoxiously loud to deep & BA! Haha.
