2011 engine cover

Has anyone painted their engine cover? I want to get one and have it match my body color and stripe. If you have please post pics.

I painted an engine cover when I had a charger, paint looked perfect till the day I sold it. I used rattle can paint, and some duplicolor. I would say as long as you prep the surface and apply multiple light coats, let cure, wet sand and clear coat. You should be set. Don't think too much just do it. Click image for larger version

Just purchased the engine cover and put it on today. Thing about it is that it is soft and flexible. Like a thermal foam. So I'd worry that if painted it would crack if you needed to remove it.

That's exactly the question I was going to ask. I have never seen one in person, but heard it described just as you say. I was hoping it would have been hard plastic.

Use a paint made specifically for plastics, such as Krylon Fusion. Won't crack, chip, or peel from plastic, as long as you follow the prep instructions.

2011 engine cover

Was going to hydro dip mine. Probably still will. If it starts looking like crap it's a pretty cheap mod to replace
