13 v6 Exhaust

Lookin for new exhaust on my Mustang. I am going towards axleback and don't want to spend rediculous amounts of money on a whole exhaust system, what is the best bang for your buck?

What do you mean? Since it's an axle back it's only going to improve your sound so are you looking for something loud, something deep, or something in between?

The best "bang" is going to depend on what sound you want. In which case I would recommend using the search function in the forum since there are many threads regarding exhaust, or search youtube, or go to some local car shows and if anyone has a mustang from 2011+ with an exhaust and hear them in person for yourself.

This^^^ and YouTube can be a good tool to see and hear the many different ones out there.

Best bang for buck = used within driving distance

or

Buying the right one the first time. A lot of folks suggest Ford Racing/Borla. I scored a set of Bassani used (see my threads for a review) I like the Bassani but there is a slight touch of drone at 1800-2000rpm when going up a hill but they were <1/2 the cost of new

Looking for aggresive loud sound, not really into performance exhause since it cost a lot more then just buying a muffler, or/pipe

Like, i like all of those choices, i was leaning toward Pypes pype bomb because of the price and it is really loud, but like i have never heard it in person and i feel like it is too loud for inspection but i don't know.

I strongly recommend Flowmaster force II axle backs. They sound amazing on mustangs especially on our 3.7's. I have them so they must be awesome. Lol

Do some research-- Go to some car shows

Don't buy anything until you know what """YOU""" will be happy with. If you like a system and it costs a lot you just need to save up until you can afford what you like. Buying anything just because it is cheap is not the "BEST BANG FOR A BUCK" because you will be miserable if you do not like the sound or fit or quality. When it comes to Mufflers everybody has a different view on what they like. I personally like my Magnaflow streets because they sound nice and deep and have no drone at all. They are made of stainless steel and the quality is outstanding. They do cost a lot but worth every cent. Some love the Borla's and others love Pypes or Flowmasters. It sure would not be very good if you bought Magnaflow streets because I like them if you hate them after you put them on your car because they are not the loud sound your looking for.
It still would not be good if you bought Flowmasters or Pypes and cut up your pipes to fit them on because they are cheap and you hate the sound. Do some research by listening to some video's or Mustangs at a cruise in and you will be much better suited to make your exhaust mod.
Ronnie

I totally agree on doing it right the first time and the car deserves the best. That's why I have Flowmaster exhaust. Go Flow or go home.

+1, also sold as Ford Racing Sports. Only difference is FOrd Racing logo on the Tips.

Best bang for the buck is to buy what you really want the first time and not find out the cheaper item wasn't as good as you wanted. I have had new GT owners at grass lot car shows asking me what I have to make their cars sound as good as mine. They would get a shock when I opened the hood and they saw a Six-Gun. Next month, they had Ford Racing Sports installed

+10 Ronnie

The Videos do not sound like any of the systems in real life when you hear them. I heard Ford Sports at an MCA car show and knew that was what I wanted. Even discovery channel, first TV video cameras do not get the correct sounds on airplanes, cars, rockets, myth buster blasts. I have been at some events they shoot. They also have a separate sound gear folks, holding all the FUzzy Dead Racoon Mics; but even then the sound wasn't like it was when I was there in person.

Go to car shows! If possible go for rides especially 65-70mph cruises where the drone can hit hard! Youtube does not do exhausts justice! American Muscle has some pretty good sound clips but I HIGHLY recommend going in person its just not the same!

Ebay has a set of Pypes for $175 plus free shipping. Check out the sellers history to make sure they have A+ rating and pay by credit card/Pay pal. 10,000 miles on them and you save $115 or so.

If you just want them to be loud and aggressive just go to a local shop and have them weld in a straight pipe and some nice tips and there you go 👍
Thats what i have in my car and i love it i get compliments all the time
But like other people said go to a local car meet and hear different setups

@ArtU: Are you 100% positive the FRPP Sport axle-backs are S-Types? I've research 'Sports vs. S-Types' multiple times on other forums and all I've come across is that they are indeed made by Borla, but they're not replicas of the S-Type (slightly quieter). A user said David Borla himself has confirmed this.

I put towels in the openings where the mufflers stick out and them tightened down the nuts with the towels in place and removed them once tightened pretty well centered

I just grabbed the borla stingers. If you just want the sound go with axelbacks but if u plan on doing performance mods go with the cats.
