Is this price too good??

Please move this to the proper section if its the wrong place to post.

I found a 2011 v6 manual stang on cars.com
Looks too good to be true though as every other 2011 stang I've searched has been around 18-19k+. Can someone please take a quick look for me?

Your missing some important info:

Most importantly - a link to the car you're looking at
What price did you find?
Did you look at the carfax?

According to KBB.com a certified pre-owned V6 premium should run about $21k (with ~10k miles on it)

My local dealer has new premiums starting at $19K and quite a few in the very low 20's.

Seems like a fair deal, is it a certified pre-owned?

21K for a 2011 3.7 premium is too much IMO.

Don't rule out a nice, clean, used GT for the price of a new V6.

I plan to hit the used Mustang GT market within the next year. I suspect the "masses" will be trading their 2011's to 2014's in on the new Mustang models, so the market will have some sweet 5.0 GT's out there.

You speak the truth. In the upcoming months, the market will be flooded with amazing deals because people will be desperate for the 2015 model, must have and they will be dumping their beautiful 2011 to 2014 models like a bad case of the crabs.

I was thinking about this as well. I love my sixxer, but if there's a nice used 5.0 out there I will most likely do some serious number crunching to see how my finances stack up at that time. Luckily, I'm not a huge fan of the new design and I prefer the 2013 - 2014 models.

Target the 13-14s over the 11-12s because supposedly only the 11-12s suffer the cylinder 8 issue..

Easy to find out

Post on the GT forum about this problem with the 2011 and 2012's and see how many owners have had any problems. There are a lot of 2011 & 2012 5.0 Mustangs in my club and nobody ever mentiond any problems at all.
Ronnie

PS: I did find this re-call on the 2011 Mustang. I looked and could not find anything worse then this:

From all the countless posts and threads that surround the #8 cylinder failure on the early 5.0 coyote engines, it appeared they were due to two popular theories:

1) a cooling issue; the size of the coolant passages between cylinders 6-8 in that cylinder head. Detonation would happen One company offered a fix for this:

http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=495337

2) This cylinder is long known to be the first to detonate with aggressive tunes, and forced induction mods.

The failure seemed to be less than 1% of all 5.0's that were sold during 2011 and 2012, but due to the internet, and forums such as ME, the failures that did happen spread like wildfire.

First of all, Ford didn't say anything about it because it's not their problem. It's mainly only an issue on tuned cars, so therefore an unwarrantable situation taking Ford out of the equation. And it's funny how just last week I talked to 10+ guys with 5.0's on a facebook page that all had it happen, and my friend's went out right after he got his. It's more than 1%, it's just not spoken of as much now because most of the issues have been fixed since everyone has already went through their motor. And I also believe BAMA even had to warranty a few of the engines because of it. I'm not positive on that but it was talked about when the mass of the people had their's fail.

But go ahead and take the chance. Myself, if I ever get a 5.0 it will not be an 11-12 just because there is a chance there, no matter how small it is.

Thank You Colby2013

That is why I could not find it as a Ford defect. Now that you mentioned it I think I read something about the tune problems when I first joined this forum a long time ago.

Funny how the 3.7 engine had no blown cylinders issues.

Yes, because as a motor from the factory. It has no reoccurring issues such as the #8 cylinder. And when I say this, it's all personal opinion from me. I'm not saying don't buy a 11-12 5.0 because of this, but just know that it has been an issue in the past and people still run across it. But I would only touch a 13-14 myself because I plan to modify it and don't want to run into a early rebuild.

And the main reason people have found them to be going out is the back cylinders aren't getting good flow, as Bucko said. And the tuning was just too much for them I guess. And the 3.7 just has a junk driveshaft apparently. I'm still not sold on that one though.

Yea, like less than 5 proven V6 drive shaft breakages, turned into everyone needing a new Drive-shaft. Yet GT busted driveshafts were the only ones found on government car complaint forms.
