V6 but he will most likely start to reel in on you at the top end
But the V6 SHOULD win
I would be able to tell you from personal experience lol

Unless there is a driver advantage one way or the other I would put my money on GT especially in a 1/8 or 1/4 mile race. While the V6 might be making a little more HP the GT will has a lot more torque which makes a big difference (cant just focus on HP numbers).

Gearing in the v6? manuals or autos? If your's is a 2.73 auto it'll be close, but if you're manual and shift good you should win.

Even when they're both stock, a '13 V6 will win against a pre-2011 GT 9 times out of 10 (depending on the driver.) Add a tune to the V6 and it should have no problem winning.

I've had both at the same time. 08 GT & '14 V6. My V6 with similar mods is faster.

Now fellas and ladies, you know all this 3.7 talk gets the V8 fans all stirred up. Ha ha ha! You know ego's are at stake here and butt hurt the 4.6 fanatics have about this topic. Its got to suck once being the Prince (4.6) of the mustang world only to be punked by the later bastard (3.7).

The 4.6 club ruled the streets for a long time and then Ford produced a more efficient and improved power of a V6. The 3.7 gave power and performance of the 4.6 at a much lesser cost.

The 3.7 has all the positives of the 4.6 engine and 2 less cylinders to boot. Ouch, that's got to hurt. Evolution is a beautiful thing however many V8 enthusiasts will feel the butt hurt. The butt hurt from having older technology and being reduced too being less than its sister car the 3.7.

The 3.7 engine can even match the added power on stock internals as the 4.6. The 3.7 can safely hold approximately 450 rwhp all on factory internals. The 4.6 can safely hold approximately 450 rwhp on factory internals.

The 3.7 holds the same maximum power as the 4.6 does on factory internals only adds more butt hurt to the mix. Sure the 4.6 is a great engine but the 3.7 is better. Its more efficient ,makes similar power to the 4.6, all with getting better fuel millage and has two less cylinders. Dang son, Ford dropped the boom on the V8 2010 and under fan club.

Like the dinosaurs, the 4.6 is extinct and a new breed of power is born. If you guys think butt hurt is strong now wait till the 2015 4 banger comes out and them too will be whopping a$$ on the 4.6's. Man the butt hurt will flow with 4 cylinders less than the 4.6.

Granted the 2015 4 bangers will be whooping up on us 3.7's (ha ha ha) but our ego's are nothing like the V8' fanatics ego's.

Don't forget that the 3.7 is a heck of a lot lighter than the 4.6

Yea, I sure hope it's pretty good. The 4.6 3v is about 10 years old now. And the 4.6 2v is about 20 years old.

The 3.7 is a great engine, much better than the V8's in the GT prior to the coyote in my opinion.

It is a nice engine. But lots of different tech between those 2 engines so it's hard to make a fair comparison. It definitely is a great engine though.

Here's the bottom line... Everyone will defend what they have, whether it's a coyote, or an old 4 banger SVO
