They may have the + or - to change gears "BUT"
They don't do much different then you can do just using the selector to go from drive to second to first.
The 2015 automatic is supposed to be having padel shifters but they won't act much different either. Just easier to use.
There is one place I like to lock my gear into third due to it is really curvy and fun. I just use the selector on my 2012 and it works fine.
I guess you already know that the black button on the side of your selector will stop the transmission from going into sixth gear. I have used it once in a while just to feel the acceleration and deceleration it provides on the two lane nice curvy highways.
