Lol. You might want to reread the post that I was answering too about the 420 rwhp. Here it is and that's why I responded about 420 rwhp.

I'm talking 1/4 mile drag from a stand still. I know I sure don't want to race a 5.0 from about a 30MPH roll start. That is where they would spank me bad. It does not matter to me though because my Mustang is still very much fun to drive and I can still put my GF hard into her passenger seat when I want to.
Like a few of you already mentioned, Poor driving and spinning tires equal slow 1/4 mile times. That 400 plus horsepower 5.0 is still a screamer in the real world out on the street but so is the 3.7 Cyclone 3.7 V6. Both are great engines and way more fun then we thought cars would be with all the new Govt. restrictions and crap.
I love both engins but prefer to have my CYCLONE 3.7 V6

Fully aware of what they come with stock. On the other hand. Her car was not stock. And I was at the dyno with her to see the numbers. Hence the 420rwhp!

I had just responded to him too bro. You beat me too the punch. Ha ha ha! He was assuming I was talking about a factory 5.0 and not your friends 5.0.

It's okay! Just a misunderstanding. I probably didn't state that it wasn't stock. Idr.

Ronnie, amazing time bro. Same thing happened last night where I was at. Some dude was running a 13 or 14 5.0 and was manual transmission. I have not any knowledge of his exact gear ratio but based upon it was a manual it had too be at least 3:31 gears. Dude was running 13.6's. I'm like WTF bro. Clearly dude had no idea on how too drag strip a manual transmission, not that I do but I don't have a manual.

Dude was sandbagging off the line and couldn't shift for crap. I would be so embarrassed if I owned a 420 HP, V8 5.0 and couldn't even break into the 12's. Also, keep in mind this was at Cecil County Dragway and its known for being an amazing fast running track.

There worth it because insurance only halfway rapes me since it's a v6. That's about it in my eyes as if it wasn't for that I'd have a 5.0.

Different case then

I see a lot of people though who confuse the manufacturer horespower figures with RWHP and get upset when they dyno and come up with about 17% less power.

It was a fairly cool evening 60's or 70's Dry air & no wind

A great Florida night with a lot of rubber on the track. My Muscle car club is going in April and I may go again. I swore I was not gonna track, Auto-X or do any kind of racing with this car. I try not to but I'm easily talked into things that are stupid and FUN.
I was at a car show Saturday and they were doing free dyno's. An untuned V6 with stock mufflers and just a Steeda CAI (Untuned) Just the CAI installed did 271 Rear Wheel Horsepower. Not bad at all for a manual V6.

Drag racing can be addictive. I'm glad our track is 1 1/2 hours away!

You sure got that right

Not only drag racing but any type of car fun is addictive. Tracking is even worse and costs way more. The need for speed is just not the name of a Movie or Game. It is an addiction.

This is what modding a 3.7 is all about! I wouldn't trade mine at all and as you can see by the last picture it has no power issues at all!Click image for larger version

Not a whole lot, I've done the intake, throttle body, strut bar, Anti away bars, sr lowering springs, street scene front lip, hid fogs, roush lower side skirts, tint, Bama tune 93 oct, drive shaft safety loop, louvers, smoked marker lights, changed almost all the lights to leds...but I have more plans to come.

It sure looks great

I want to probably do a driveshaft next. Not because I race much or anything but with the aluminum driveshaft being lighter and one piece it would just make my car a little better in my mind.

That's my next move also, I have the loop on but I want the one piece. I can feel the vibration of the stock one a lot and from reviews it's not even safe to have it on there. I don't drive that fast often but once in a while I like to get on it hard. Worth the peace of mind.

Went with the 6 for similar reasons...mpg for my long daily commute, best $20k car available, and looks sharp. However, after going to the AM show just one time I had serious v8 envy and I realize you just can't replicate that sound and raw power. I'm going to keep this ride stock and just be patient till the time is right to upgrade.

Hi Missxalii, can you tell us more about the blown drive-shaft? How it happened in a new thread? It helps others understand the issues.

Wow, Unbelievable

Your picture really shows how stupid designed that idiot driveshaft is made. I'm guessing Ford really must have got a great deal on them or they are probably made for more applications then just the V6 Mustangs.
Those shafts may be OK for most drivers but the people that love performance will eventually have this same problem.
This is probably one of those problems that will not be covered by warranty if you tuned your car.

If you tune your car it is absolutely not covered. And I believe they see the V6 models are the kind people still do not drive or mod as much or as frequently as the GT's when in this economy and with that power people are far more likely to do so. They are incredibly cheap.

American Muscle sell excellent ons

Light - Strong - and well balanced. A lot of people on this forum have them and I have not heard one complaint yet.

I have a one piece aluminum driveshaft and purchased it from AM. I have the one that is made by the Axle Exchange. Absolutely love it. The car feels smoother. No noise vibration and steady at 140 mph.

I got mine for AM and used my 6% discount code on it. Back when I bought mine AM was only carrying one brand aluminum driveshaft which was made by The Axle Exchange. Now AM carries a second driveshaft brand which costs a little more than the Axle Exchange one. I have no idea what makes the one from The Drive Shaft Shop better than the Axle exchange driveshaft but I love mine. I think the Axle Exchange driveshaft holds up too 900 rwhp which I'm just a few bolt on mods away. Ha ha ha ha
