Its funny how not that many decades ago this was considered bad a$$ muscle. 2005 GT, 300 plus, horsepower. The 2011 3.7 model, just 6 years after this 2005 model has 300 plus (305) horsepower and that's not a real performance mustang to many mustang enthusiasts. HUH????? Crazy!!! My 3.7 auto is just shy of 300 rwhp and launches me 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. Can run 150 mph especially since I have a one piece aluminum driveshaft and the speed limiter is removed. My 3.7 will beat many manual 5.0 owners off the line in the 1/4 because the average 5.0 owner isn't that great at driving manual. I have beaten 5.0's because the driver can't get traction or work his clutch and my 3.7 had zero traction issues and launches excellent. They can't catch up because I pulled way ahead and its to late because like the 5.0 our 3.7's love the power at higher rpm's. The 3.7 is a bad a$$ modern day muscle car and has awesome potential with nothing more than bolt on mods. Sent from my little Johnson.
Ha ha ha. Auto 5.0 or good driver. Totally agree , I would get my a$$ handed to me. Most are not good drivers when comes to manuals and the 3.7 has great power so the other driver better be on top of their game. Ha ha ha

The "cant afford a v8" thing always makes me laugh - like being able to afford a Ford product with a v8 requires that you be in an upper socio-economic class or something.
I can afford pretty much anything I want. I had an 05 and 08 GT because the v6s those years were anemic and not fun to drive at all. I have the same hp in my 2013 v6, and that's all I need - just something a little fun to drive, looks great and can get out of its own way. I don't participate in the Stoplight Grand Prix, nor am I impressed by badges or 2500rpm drone.
The GTs are great cars - why didn't I get one? To put it simply, they just don't interest me.
Price, looks, comfort are the main reasons for me. nothing against a GT at all. I would gladly drive either but I found my 12 V6 premium used with 22,000 miles for only 17,900 over a year ago. all other used 11+ with the premium packages were all around 22-24,000 price range when I was looking. it was hard to pass up.
