What is this?

Just above the oil fill cap. It's threaded like something is supposed to go there but shining a light down in it it is blocked off. Any ideas?

thinking about this, I'm gonna change my answer to idk. Ford does not sell enough of the PP's to justify putting in a tapped hole just for us. Like the Genius I have the PP and it is covered in mine too. I did like my guess at 1st thought but.....

The flux capacitor mounts there.

Nope. I just put the performance cover on. There are holes on the top of the engine where you stick rubber grommets. The cover snaps on there. The you put on the oil cap extension and screw the oil cap on to hold down the bottom part of the cover.

That threaded hole? It's put there to confuse us.

Maybe it's used during assembly for an engine mount bracket.

There is others like that under and around the car. A good guess could be assembly. And they like to confuse us...

And they do a good job at that. Sometimes I wonder if the engineers do this on purpose. They sit around the table on a Monday morning, sipping coffee, and decide to machine a threaded hole at the top of the engine, then laugh and wonder what folks will think it was there for.

We all need to go out and create a mod for that threaded hole.

This is why I always try to give two different answers, it increases the chance of being right.

Note: this method does not guarantee success.
