O.k everyone here is a, IMO, noon question. I bought the Airaid CAI/tuner combo from AM and was so wondering what's the best way to clean the filter?

good morning. Its time for a cleaning of my Airaid as well. This time, I purchased a second filter. It is extremely important to let the airfilter dry completely between clean/rinse and re-oiling.
I just apply the cleaning solution then let sit & rinse in the sink. Avoid high pressure water.
Tip: do not over oil, and let dry completely before installing and turning the crank. You dont want that oil to weep and coat the TB/intake mani.

Yep. Don't over oil. Many do, then blame the manufacturer, and then post on how CAI/oil type filters ruin the MAF sensor. They get a bad rap this way, only because the directions were not followed for cleaning and re-oiling.

If the filter did not come with instructions, follow these:

How often should it be cleaned?

Thank you for the link Bucko, that's exactly what I needed! I had no clue on how to PROPERLY clean this thing. I'll have to see where I can find the oil. Is there a set amount of timing intervals you should do it, like an oil change has, or is it just a visual inspection thing?

^ Bucko has pointed you in the right direction! You can find some filter oil at a local parts store that will definitely do the trick. Like these guys said, the most important thing is to just not over oil the filter.

There's no real "time frame" for when you should re-oil the filter and clean it. It really depends on when you drive the car, how much you drive the car etc.. I don't drive my 2011 GT very often so the filter doesn't really get dirty. I would just do an inspection of the filter when you do an oil change and see how it looks!

Thanks for placing your order with us. We really appreciate your business and loyalty!

Hope this helps.
