Why would you want to give your friends more fuel for the fire.

Well it seems like you all scared him away LOL.

I'm not familiar with the quality of glow wire on eBay. I got mine from this site and its great quality. Great stuff. You will need the 12 volt plug and play set. Thanks for liking it bro.

I have a friend that did this on an older stang v6 full exhaust and everything all in all the clone cost more than just buying a v8 he had to make it dual exhaust and he actually is known as the guy with the fake gt... I vote scrap the idea and make your car so fast youll want to put 3.7 emblems everywhere just to spite the crap talkers.
That being said where can I get a custom emblem made? Not GT something like 3.7 or a more custom one?

No no no nooooooooo. No. Just no. Save the money you'd spend on emblems and go pick up some cans in the ditch and buy a v8 if you want one that bad.

I'm so proud of having a V6 model I even advertise our engines cubic inch size and our cars HP rating! How is that for pride and love of our V6!

F those D bags who make you feel less because you have a V6.

I hope the OP was not offended by all the opinions we stated here; was not our intentions. Instead, I hope we sent out the message that we are proud of our V6 Mustangs, we have a strong bond with them here, and enjoy the great V6 talk we have on this forum.

We welcome any and all V6 owners; we understand that there's always a difference of opinion, and welcome all topics on the subject.

Thanks bro. I got it from this web site. Great quality glow wire. You need the 12 volt plug and play set. You need to be familiar with electrically car wiring in order too install. A buddy of mine did the install.

Hey guys just wanted to say honestly I can take the criticism! I am proud of my v6 and obviously me saying I wanna badge it a something else doesn't say I'm proud! I don't wanna offend anyone here! I'll just say you guys all did a great job at pounding it into my head that I shouldn't badge it! You guys made me laugh because I expected the bashing so no worries guys! Im only 19 and pay for everything myself, you guys are right if I wanted a 5.0 I should have bought it, but insurance already rapes me driving the v6 I couldn't imagine the v8! Anywho thanks for the help really guys! I know us v6 owners take pride in our rides!

Black or white are good choices with red (race red?). I have the black Boss style stripes on the sides, and on the hood:

For being your only 19 years of age and have this beautiful mustang, good job and that's a great accomplishment too be proud of.

Love your color stang and if it were me I would get black vinyl decals. I always loved black with red but that's just me. Red would certainly work nice too but love the black and red combo.

I know exactly where your coming from. I get my stones busted daily by my co workers about why in the world would I get a V6 mustang. They tear me a new one even worse after I advertised on my car that it's a V6. 227 and 305 HP. They said its bad enough I bought a rental car (V6 model) but its worse that I advertise its a v6.

I of course don't seen it like that, am very proud of my pony and shows how I take care of it and made it my own.

Your missing 2 pistons, until you get those, you don't have a GT clone.

Gotta love the race red it really pops. Man I really think you should focus on all the other appearance mods before you do the GT badges . I really think you'll regret it .

Yes, we do!

When I bought this race red, I was actually after a Kona Blue. The dealer that I was at had two (Kona Blue's), but had cloth interior (hard to keep clean in the Africa Hot summers of Florida). I was still going to buy, thinking I could always buy a leather seat set off of Ebay, but as we walked into the showroom to do some paperwork, the race red was parked at the door entrance. It had the leather, chrome GT wheels, and then my attention. It was all over.

Love that you striped it! Makes me want mine striped so much more! IMO I would go with wider stipes and I'm gonna get a hood scoop so that should really make it pop!

Thanks I am very proud of my car and feel like I pissed some people off sayin I wanted a gt clone! And for that sorry guys! Im looking to get a nice set of rims too! Thinking about just going all out with wider tires in the back and black rims followe by black racing stripes to really make this stang stand out, although a fake gt would stand out pretty well too I'm kinda a rookie mechanic too and wasn't sure what some good easy bolt on performance upgrades are other then the cai or tuner! Just cause I don't wanna void my warranty quite yet and have heard that the without a tuner the cai doesn't do much good for hp gain!

I have not heard one single word from any of my people that know me

Not one single rude remark about my Mustang being a V6. It may be because they all know I did a lot of Drag racing, Tracking and auto X-ING in my time. I have breakfast with my Street Rodder friends and belong to a Muscle car Club. I have friends that still track and drag race. I guess all my friends and people I know are "CAR PEOPLE" and just don't knock a persons car. I would think any idiot that will rag on you because your Mustang is a V6 is not worth arguing with. They are not true car people and after looking at the pictures of your Red Mustang, They are jealous and probably wished they owned that V6 Mustang.
You have your car for your pleasure and screw any idiot that don't like it as long as you like it. My Mustang is a V6 and I just won the People choice award at a huge Ford and Mustang roundup and I'm sure a lot of V8 mustang owners of all years voted for my Mustang. If they didn't I sure wouldn't have got that award.
A V6 or even a Turbo Four in a Mustang is still a lot better then most other cars as long as you love Mustangs.
I would not trade my V6 3.7 automatic Mustang for ""ALL THE TEA IN CHINA"" or any thing else.
Ronnie

I agree! I drive my dream car at 19 and am not one to gloat about what I have so I'd agree, they are not "true car people" I love this car and wouldn't trade it for the world! And don't get mad when I say this but when you say v6 vs v8 you just automatically like the v8 IMO, now us v6 owners know that it's still a badass car but I hope you get what i mean there

way more civilized (sp?) than I thought this thread would be, thx guys this is why I've been here more.

OP one vote for dual wide white stipes from someone with a Race Red 3.7

I'm glad you decided against the GT badge as others said it's your car but car guys would know and wouldn't give you respect. fwiw I tend to tell folks who ask what engine "it's the Quadcam V6" it's true and sounds kinda exotic.

I'll vote for intake and exhaust mods...you don't get any real HP but they can sound nice and no decent dealer will give you grief for those...hint score used and save $

I don't think anyone was pissed bro. Its all good. We were just trying too point out how awesome your 3.7 pony is and how you can make it your own. Us 3.7 guys do get a bunch of crap and its just an archaic way of thinking and suspect its a bit of angry envy. Truth be known there are far more V6 models sold compared to Gt models and up until 2010 the Gt was the big brother.

Once 2011 models came out with the 3.7 engine, the big V8 from 2010 and under was not so big anymore. A factory 3.7 was nipping at the heals of many 2010 Gt owners which left butt hurt with V8 enthusiasts. Your talking about maybe 1 to 2 tenths slower than a 2010 Gt from majority of drivers.

Keep in mind all for thousands and thousands less. I purchased my base 2011 back in 2010 and paid 22,500 dollars. If I wanted a 2010 Gt base model back then it would of cost me a good 27 to 28k if you could of even found base 2010 models back in October 2010.

For 1,000 dollars one can install gears and performance tune and beating up on many stock 2010 and under Gt's all day long. Granted there is a member on here that was able to run 13.1 1/4 mile with there factory 2008 Gt. I would say that member is highly gifted with running manual and if that same person was running a 2011 3.7 they could get 13.3 easily factory.

The point is, the 3.7 is a performance beast and no need too be ashamed! I know I'm proud of my ride!

Sorry I'm using my phone and my posts weren't showing up! I think I'll get the black 3.7 emblems those will stand out nicely! And I just got the borla s type exhaust! Waiting for it to come in and couldn't me more excited! And maybe I'll feel some hp gain from that! Then I'm looking into some tires then scoops and louvers and then stripes for the cherry on top! I love in Michigan and just gotta say with this winter it's been a bad year to drive a mustang and I couldn't be more excited to finally have some dry pavement to really spice up this v6! It's already a head turner with it being race red but this borla is gonna make everyone have to look!!

Get a custom rear cap.

I know what people mean about wanting to CHANGE their v6- because lets be honest, many (not all, not most?) Of the people with 6s bought it because the color matched their outfit, or their broseph saw young weezy with one- NOT because they like the car, care about it, or anything else. If you want love the car, and want it to be more than some bland v6, make it your v6. Your current plan will be more trouble than you're looking for.

Do yourself a favor and listen to this guy. Im 25, just bought my first mustang (2012 v6) and i kinda understand why you would feel the need to show off a GT... But its NOT a GT and as soon as you rev the engine anyone who KNOWS what a gt is (the people you are most likely trying to impress in the first place ) will see through your 5.0 and GT badges.
