They will not. If they drop the v8 there would be no need for the mustang anymore

Ford dropped the V8 for one year during the Mustang II era. They learned their lesson.

The day of high displacement gasoline engines (*as we know them today*) are numbered. Anyone who disagrees with that must be in denial or living under a rock. Even companies like Bentley (known for using gigantic and gas guzzling V8s and up) are playing with new plug-in technology due to crippling government demands. And I worry that you're right. The end of the V8 could be the end of the Mustang. We live in a vastly different world than we were in in the days of the Mustang II. The technology is here. The power of a 4.6 V8 can be had in the form of a turbo I4 these days. I'm talking 20+ years down the line, though. The V8 is still a big contender with American/European manufacturers. But Tesla has proven that you can create fast electric cars. Given time, I wouldn't be surprised to see an all electric sports car from Ford, be it the Mustang or something new.

Lol your post confused me now. Im just tellin the op to be proud of his v6, I am. And ya ive beat v8 guys. Only raced dudes with old big blocks.

I dunno abt this supercharged talk you speak of, I was sayin I'd rather have a built 6 than an 8. With the exception of a '11 or up boss hahah

They will just make the V8 very expensive.

They will place the V8 option at a very high price to allow more four cylinder and V6 sales to keep their CARB ratio in tact. I'm betting on a V6 Turbo or supercharged option to keep people wanting to buy a Mustang. The Turbo four will probably go real big in Europe. A 227 inch V6 Turbo or supercharged which is 3.7 Ltr. is also going to be big in America as well as Europe if they produce it.

That would be pretty damn exciting. If money was no object, I would turbo my V6 in a heart beat.

It's the good old U.S.A. that loves it's cubic inches. The V8 will remain for as long as their is a demand for it. Sure, the price you pay for it may rise, but I don't see the V8 going away for quite some time.

What suprises me though, is why we make such a big deal out of what has to be under the hood of a Mustang. I'm sure there are many of us that cut our teeth on the V8's of the late 60's and early (very early) 70's. These small block (and some big block) V8's were putting out the HP we are easily acheiving today in our V6's and turbo 4 cylinders, and at much lighter bodies of today, the power to weight ratio of today is incredable!

Add a 5.0, and wham, you have a killer Mustang that would have ruined the day of many large block cars of the 60's.

If you took a V6 of today against a small block Mustang of the late 60's, you'd have a great time with it (the V6) as well.

Me? Hand me one of those turbo 4 cylinder 2015's for a day (or month). I'm thinking I'll have a real good time with it, and suprise a whole bunch of folks on todays roads.

I still love my 3.7 though; it would take some powerful ammo to pry out the keys to it from my hands.

I know but ford didn't make a chrome version(that I know of). The owner before you either had them coated/plated or bought the American muscle chrome replicas

Finally got the borla stingers installed today! And videos do the exhaust no justice what so ever! The in cab noise is manageable and the exhaust on the outside sounds great! I had my dad drive it up and down the road fast and normal speed and when you press the throttle down she opens right up and let's you know where he's at on the road! I could hear him easily 1/4 mile away (that's as far as he went) and I'm sure you can hear it great farther away too! Also you guys might be pleased to hear I put the black 3.7 emblems on the side! Proud to be the owner of my 2013 V6!

That doesn't make it a GT though. And honestly, the pony emblem looks better than the plain old GT emblem. Why not get a custom emblem made?

So your running the base pro charger kit? The 475 they told you is at the flywheel not the tires.

They gave you a dyno sheet didn't they? Pro bally 400-410 at the tires

Bro, your car could make 850 rwhp and you still don't have a Gt so complete poser to stick a Gt trunk emblem especially when its not that nice looking to boot. The V6 trunk emblem is far nicer looking than the Gt trunk emblem but that's secondary. I have never seen so many people who are penis envy of the Gt.

I'm gonna stick a Dodge Viper trunk emblem on my mustang because I like snakes and I'm hung like a baby garden snake.

I don't understand why it is sooooo important !!!!

Why would anybody feel their car is inferior to a 5.0 GT ??? The Cyclone 3.7 V6 is a great engine. As far as engines go, the 3.7 is just as good as a V8 but as we know. (IT IS DIFFERENT) the two less cylinders do not make it something to be ashamed of when asked whats under the hood. Just say it is a three hundred and five horsepower V6 and answer any questions they have.

Totally right. Come on fellas. Let's have pride in our 3.7 rides. No need to feel embarrassed or ashamed. We have the most awesome v6 model mustang ever manufactured to date. We have the 2010 and under Gt owners secretly envious and upset the V6 is as fast as their big V8's and for thousands less paid.

The size of the engine in a mustang does not solely make it awesome. Its the owner behind the mustang that makes it awesome and unique regardless of the engine size!

You Know there are Mustang owners with the older Mustangs that will not even think of trading for a later model. They love their Mustangs and ain't gonna give them up.
