Whats your insurance on your Mustang!

Hi guys new guy here. Just picked up my first new car ever and its a beauty.

2014 Black Mustang V6 Premium.

I love it and its been a blast to drive but my insurance is 207/month.

I am 27 year old and only have one ticket. I been driving since i was 16.

I also have been in two accidents but it was just a fender bender where the guy hit me from the back... ie not my fault.

I just dont know why my insurance is so high.

By the way is there a thread where i can see pictures of 2014 V6's of current forum members. I am getting window tint on saturday and debating on putting on some black rims so the car will be fully blacked out.

Dear lord.. some of you guys need to change insurance companies. 20 Y/O, 13' V6, around $120/month. However i am on my mom's coverage plan (but i pay my part), so that may bring it down a bit.

Lol. It might be because I have life ins. from them as well plus the wife's car is on same policy, both full coverage as well. For coverage on all those 3 items are $160/month. Through State Farm.

Whats your insurance on your Mustang!

I'm on my own insurance plan and it's full coverage for $150/m under Farmers Insurance
Even I was shocked it was that low. I used to drive a Nissan Juke and it was $120/m for that little thing lol

It's unfortunate, but there are other factors that make for your insurance costs:

1) Your credit score
2) Married/single
3) Age
4) male/female
5) Location
6) Distance you drive per day

So, not only your driving record needs to be clean for cheaper rates, but you need to have a great credit score, need to be over 24 (male) and married, need to drive 5 miles round trip to/from work, and you need to live in the desert where there's no traffic apparently.

You should see a drop in rates....for men, and over 25, it's supposed to be when they settle down.

I still can't believe how much some of you guys are paying. I'm about $50/month under everyone. All while being a single male under 25 with my own policy. Hell, even when I had my Jetta and MR2 I was only paying $140/month for the pair.

Time for you guys to come to American Family, lol.

What's your deductable?

A rate can be lower as well if you accept a high deductable. For example, if you are involved in an accident, and the repair costs are $2000.00, and your deductable is $1000.00, you pay $1000.00, and the insurance pays $1000.00.

My son went for a high deductable to help keep his cost down. His car was involved in a hit and run; the repair estimate was somewhere around $3500.00. His deductable was $1000.00.

He was not a happy camper, but nothing he could do.

Wow where do you live... i am starting to think it has alot to do with how bad the traffic is where you live. I know in Atlanta its really bad.

Those of you with the lower monthly payments...what is your deductable (out of pocket expense if/when you make an insurance claim)?

Wow makes me feel a lot better about mine. 33yr old, single, No tickets since I was about 18, rear ended twice in last 3-4 years (both under $2K in damage and not my fault), have a low mileage rate (7K miles/yr) which only saved me about $100/yr. $1K deduct. full coverage, great credit, comes out to around $75/month. Most all the online quotes I got were around $110/month, local agency got me the better deal.

IIRC my Bullitt was $900/yr bought it when I was 28 and had one accident at the time where a woman turned in front of me everything else the same but no low mileage discount.

some of you guys must be on your parents insurance or have very poor insurance for full coverage. I made sure I would not have to pay out of pocket if my car gets wrecked or I kill someone. You ALWAYS want to make sure you have enough insurance. I could probably get it down under the 180/month but not much. I have multicar discount, good credit and NO tickets or accidents. I don't see how some of you in your 20's are under or anywhere near my price. Just hope you don't have cheap insurance and if something happens, your screwed.
