3.7 V6 Engine Cover....... heat?

Do you think the engine runs cooler without the PP engine cover?

Does the cover hold heat under it?

I kinda wondered the same thing, I removed the cover on my flex but I think its more of a mind game than an heat issue. I didnt see any temp or performance difference.

I doubt it. You're covering the "dead space on the drivers side" for the most part; the largest heat factor is going to be the exhaust manifolds, and they are tucked down on the sides of the engine.

Besides, Ford includes this cover on their premium packaged equipped Mustangs, so if it were was a heat issue with them, they would have not installed them from the factory.

I imagine it would hold in heat, just not enough to make any difference in the real world. Mud thinks the amount of power gained from removing the cover would also be increased by the 1/2# less your car would weigh and you could then sell your cover and put the $ towards something that would make a difference.

theory only.

Heh I wish they were. Then I wouldn't have had to spend $150 to get one.

Actually they come with the Performance package.

I have no problem at all ---EXCEPT----

It makes my engine look a lot better when I open my hood.
