Affordable appearance mods to start? Definitely stripes. Completely transforms the car and make a statement. First thing I did, less than a month after getting it.

I personally went with silver.

Bit the first mod I do on all my cars is a short antenna, makes. It's one of those things you don't really notice but make the world difference once you do lol. You won't spend more than $20 on ebay.

Google Image search black Mustangs with Grabber Blue stripes. I love the look, however, you can't go wrong with silver, red, white, gold or yellow. Try just Googling black Mustangs with stripes and see what grabs you. You don't have any lower door stripes to begin with, so you could go with anything.

With a 2014, I would run the front ones all the way down the bumper like FastFord13 did. Since I have the cowl on the 2012 hood, I only wanted mine to cover that, that's why mine stop where they do. It brings more attention to the cowl and makes it stand out more from the rest of the hood.

First thing I did was add the GT/CS spoiler, I thought it made a huge difference. I've thought about adding stripes, but I have yet to decide what to go with on the black. I guess it depends on what you would consider affordable. I also find that tinting the side markers and brake lights looks good.

Actually, I don't see a spoiler on your car. If you have plans to get one, do that before you stripe it.

Any recommendations on a spoiler? I don't want something too big.

Mine above is the factory lip spoiler, much smaller than the GT500. I like them both.

That's probably more the size I would want. Also, does anyone here have an aftermarket exhaust? I'm interested in something that sounds good accelerating, but doesn't drone on the highway.

I have the Magnaflow Streets. You can read all about exhaust out here by using the search function. Streets could be what you are looking for.

The silver looks sick. Did you get it painted or vinyl? Looks real glossy from the pictures.

It's vinyl, they look like that because it's a very metallic silver not just the normal silver other people have. It's actually a very expensive vinyl haha but worth it especially if you see it up close.

I was going to do mine in either charcoal to match my rims or satin black. I would like the charcoal color because its more of a satin/gloss finish to them and would stand out more.

Well as I stated before, I have the cali special spoiler and I love it. I also like the GT500 spoiler a lot.

As for the exhaust, you would probably like the Magnaflow Streets. I have the universal magnaflow mufflers that I get installed for pretty cheap at a local shop and they sound very similar, if not the same as the streets.

Oh and just my 2 cents about exhaust...it seems like a lot of people start off saying they don't want something too loud so they get one of the quieter sets, and then after a while they want something louder. I can vouch for that because I'm one of those people lol. Now I want to get either the Roush or Borla S-Types.

Yeah I like the sound a lot! But if I get that kind of money together to pend on my car it's going towards the Cervini's Stalker Hood. The S-Types will have to come later.

Man I want stripes myself now! Might have to look into some colors that would really pop with the black.

That was my thing too, a hood or the Borla. I'll still get the hood eventually, but the borlas are too fun for me to want to go back and change my mind not that I can lol.

How much did you guys spend on stripes?

I just spent $440 on Tinting and blacking out my back lights but those stripes do look nice!!!

I am thinking i would go with Yellow strips on my black mustang.

Here's the new MMD ducktail spoiler from AM. Similar to the ducktail spoiler on 60s Shelbys.

I know it's a crappy pic. I haven't had time to take pics of it since I installed it last Saturday.

Another worthwhile exterior mod is to get rid of that ugly chrome trim in the grille!

Just my opinion but I like in this order:
Window louvers - (you dont need to worry about those)
Spoiler - Size is a matter of taste I love the pedestal
Grille - remove chrome or try new one... Billet or CDC performance
Wheels - Higher up the list but are expensive
Lights and markers - tint out
As for stripes i do not like the rocker panel ones at all but do like the front to back. Spring for good ones that go bottom of bumper to bottom of bumper. some cheap ones short the ends. As for color on black I like: Matte Grey (little darker version), Silver, matte black, grabber blue

Well the only reason the hood will come first is because I already aftermarket exhaust.

And as for the grille, I just replaced my upper grille with the CDC grille yesterday, and I think it looks really good. I have the roush lower grille delete coming in soon as well.

Couldn't agree more. Not sure if/when will do the lower grille but the CDC grille makes the front transforn from a Shetland pony to a snorting bucking bronco!!

I'm assuming that's the boss 302 grill? I heard you need the GT surround on the '14's for them to work, is this correct? I like the look and have been trying to find a good deal on the package for a couple of weeks now.
