1200 Mile Florida to Ohio MPG w/89P Tune

On the flat highways of Florida, I can maintain 34 MPG without a problem.

Traveling through mountains, some surface road travel, and waiting in accident backups, I was able to average 28 MPG. My GPS recorded a 94 MPH top speed at one point, but I can't remember where or why. I floored it on the on ramps whenever possible, so I didn't drive 100% conservative. I generally drove the posted speed limits.

For the conditions, I'm pleased with a 28 MPG average.

The 89 Bama Performance Tune performed great. I am very pleased with it. When the weather improves here (in northern Ohio), I'm going to install the 93 octane Hybrid Tune.

Not bad. Love my GT but I am looking at going back to Kansas City from Florida for a family event and will probably rent a car to save money lol.

Back in 2007 I averaged about 25 MPG with my GT and a Diablo Tune.

Hi Ted, I am in the Sylvania area of NW Ohio. Glad to have you here.

I did Toledo to Pensacola with a 2013 V6 2.73 tune and got about 24.8 average. I-65 was about 77-84 MPH traffic. I drove like it was fun. I could get about 31 on flat Florida byways, about the same as the test runs I use on Ohio 25 flats between PerrysBurg and Bowling Green.

With my 2013 GT I can get better MPG then the V6 did with 3.55 gears. I can get 27+ easy at a flat 75mph, turning 2K rpms, about 32 at 55. the manual 6 speed and 5.0 using 3.31 gears has enough torque those 3.31 gears are just fine for fun and grand touring of the hyways and byways.

Those are some great MPG's! Have you ever tried a Performance or Street tune specifically calibrated for 93? I see you have your eyes set on the Hybrid tune for the future. The Hybrid feels much stronger than the 89octane Performance tune, although it typically gets a little worse MPG.

Thanks for sharing your feedback buddy!
