I have a 2012 V6 Premium and love it! Sure a V8 would be nice, but as my daily driver I appreciate the better MPGs and lower insurance. I am plenty happy with the performance, and get tons of compliments on the car. No one ever asks if it's a V8...they just seem envious that I own a Mustang.

I had the same dillema as you op and I went with v6 premium.

To me basic interior pf a mustang looks like complete ****. If im gonna pay 25 to 30 k for a car I want it to look like 30k car when I and other people sit in it.

I really wanted bloototh in the car as well so I picked the v6 premium.

Like you said v8 is alot faster but you cantcreally use it. Heck I think 305hp is a bit too much considering you are not suppose to drive jigher then 75-80mph.

That and the fact that insurance and gas on v8 would be alot higher for me made my decision fairly easy.

As of right now I still think I made the right decision hands down.

When I bought my mustang I was quoted for a v6 and for a gt and insurance for a gt was like $10 more

I have a base v6 and love it. If I had the money to upgrade I would go base v8 over a premium v6. I've never been driving and wished for leather or more electronics. I have wished for more power.

That's what makes life grand and choices. Different wants and needs for individuals. I would rather have a fully loaded 3.7 premium over a base 5.0 but that's just me. Adding more power to the 3.7 is easy if one desires more.

Of course a premium 5.0 would be better. Ha ha ha!

I have a premium 3.7 do I like it, ohh yeah. Would I take a premium 5.0, hell yeah. At this point do I want to spend the extra money for something that is a DD that I'm in 7 days a week, no. Once the 3.7 is payed off, I'd love to get a 5.0 also, but not to wear and tear as a DD. In the end we all have Mustangs and they are a hell of a good looking car and fun car to drive

^^^ Best explaination I've read on this ^^^

kind of reminds me of the Cougar and Mustang of the 60's and 70's...they were basically the same in drivetrain and suspension, but the Cougar was the "luxury" version with slightly different styling cues.

And then there was the Pinto, and the Bobcat....yuck.

Love the Shelby seat cover accents in red. Now you need the red leather steering wheel and door inserts.

The steering wheel can be had off of ebay...I just bought and installed one a few days ago...I'll post a pic of it here in a day...

The door inserts (if they are vinyl) can be painted using vinyl and cloth spray paint (dupli-cover sells this) sold at parts stores such as PEP Boys.

I plan to do this on the weekend as well. It's those seat covers I need to save up for; they really wake up the "all black" bland interior.

The paint works good if going from light to dark, but not so good the other way around. The red does spruce it up a bit. Even though it's not a Cobra, the snakes on the head rests are pretty cool. I found these on e-bay and had them put on for cheap.

Any problem with the various buttons on the wheel still working?

The only thing I hate about the base 11/12s is the steering wheel! I went from a base 12 to a base 13 that had the leather wrapped steering wheel & I never wanted to go back. When I got my 12 GT I made sure it had the leather steering wheel or I would have bought one forsure!

I understand there are 100 hp difference but how much of that can you really enjoy when the speed limits are low... Plus i would be paying more on gas (lower MPG, and premium gas) . So, I feel like instead of paying the extra $ for cool upgrades, I would be paying for extra HP that I might not be able to enjoy, and would make the car fuel more expensive?
EVERYDAY I wake up thinking If I only had bought the V8. People point at my little V6 as I pull up to a stop light or pull into a fast food drive thru.

I secretly park my V6 in the garage so none of my neighbors see what I am driving.

Having problems sleeping so I went to the doctor's office for a check-up.

The doctor said:

Put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up

I said Doctor! Is there nothing I can take

Oh let me get this straight

Oh mister Doctor man I think I'm going insane

Is there nothing I can take I said
Wah Wahh
To relieve this bellyache I said
Doctor! Is there nothing I can take I said
Doctor! To relieve this bellyache
Put the lime in the coconut and drink 'em both together
Put the lime in the coconut and then you'll feel better
Put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up
You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up
You put the lime in the coconut and drink it all up

2011 Kona Blue, you're too young to know. These are the lyrics from Coconut by Harry Nilsson. It was one of my first 45 records, along with Monster Mash and Hot Rod Lincoln.

Might as well toss in the "Mustang Sally" tune as well.

A few years back, my son discovered my collection of 45's and 33 albums in the closet. His eyes got huge, as he wanted to know where the CD player was that I slid these into!

Ah, the youth. It made me laugh.

That's funny! Did he try slipping your 8-tracks into the VHS player, or maybe even the BetaMax?
