Got one of these this morning.

So I pull into the parking lot at work this morning and as I'm parking next to a co- worker he doesn't check to see if someone is parking next to him and does one of those throw the door open and wham! I almost cried!

Insurance is supposed to take care of it. I was pulling into the spot beside him and he didn't look to see if anyone was there. Just unfortunate.

Did you get a police report? I'm betting that when he turns this in for an insurance claim, and finds out he has a deductable (what he has to pay out of pocket before the insurance kicks in), he's going to have second thoughts on how he wants to pay for this; he may want to "cheap out" on you.

Be careful!

Be careful. I had an old as hell guy side swipe me about 5 years ago in my Chrysler 300. Appologized, said would fix, sorry didnt see me. Felt so bad... Then he ran home called his company and told them I fit him!!! It all worked out becase the adjustors got it figured out. DTA when it comes to money. As the Chinese fortune cookie says, "In God we trust... all others pay cash"

Ouch! Make sure you report this to your insurance company ASAP. It's never good when accident stories change by the opposing person. Plus, some insurances will pay to fix your car right away while they deal with the other person/company.

Hope you get everything fixed up the way it was before!

Police report doesn't mean anything in a parking lot. Had someone back into my Daytona from across the parking lot while I was in it and the cops wouldn't even come out to file a report. It had to be settled between the 2 insurance companies.

I think to make me "feel better" I'll ask the wife if I can order a catted x pipe. (Evil laugh)

Did it take long for them to figure it out? The "fix auto" just called for me to stop by for the estimate tomorrow! Yay.

I mean clearly only a freshly painted fender and a catted Xpipe is the only thing that's going to make you feel better. Without the combo of them both, how could you possible overcome this incident? BTW- this attempt may need eye drops for your local convenience store haha.

Yes always have your insurance subrogate. Many states do run police reports for places that are not public ticketable areas, like parking lots. My last Subrogation was an example of that in an industrial park the police would not make a report on at.

Subrogation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Also in a Mustang you don't park near ANYBODY, you park in the places no one wants to park and walk far.

Don't know how they handle accidents in Canada. Most states, on an accident less than $1,000 and no one injured, you have to file a report yourself. Call your city provisional police and find out what information they need. Call your insurance company right away.

Years ago my dad and I went and picked up my first gt and afterwards stopped by pizza hut to pick up dinner. When I walked out a guy parked next to and swung his door right into the side of my car! I only had the car for an hour! On top of that I ran up to approach him and he got back in his truck and almost ran me over driving away! Luckily my dad read his license plate and we gave it to the police who found him coming home from his son's football game later that day and made him fess up his insurance info. Bad first day of ownership for sure!

Well that sucks but for a t-bone wreck that is minimal, glad it will be back to normal soon.
