It's only $$$ (to AM)

Just order the GT500 style spoiler for my '14. Looking forward to installing it, hopefully this weekend. This Mustang is going to cost me lots o' $$$ with everything that I want to do to it...

So far the only items that I have put on have been the MMD louvers, black out kit for the tail and side lights, and the "running pony" tri-bar emblems (along with a pair of Mustang 2+2 fender emblems...) I couldn't resist the 2+2 since the car reminds me so much of my '66 Fastback that I sold 14 years ago...

Same boat but add one more kid plus private school tuition. I'm doing mine like Johnny Cash one piece at a time.

Correct, when you think you are, you see something else you want.

A restorer once told me when I asked him how its known when a car is restored/finished; he replied by telling me to open the drivers door. Toss money into the car; when no more money will fit, close the door. The car is now finished.

I thought mine was done already. Then I wanted to add suspension parts. I do not even have those yet and my next 2 appearance Mods and Aluminum Drive shaft are in build list. I GUARANTEE I will have some more in there before I even get past the suspension lol.

You're car looks great, but if you haven't done it already you need some springs. I did the Pro Kit and the drop is perfect for a DD. No more 4x4!!

You'll like the kit. It drives pretty much like stock too, just a little stiffer.

Modding is definitely a sick addiction lol! It's hard to slow down when you have other friends or see forum members upgrading their cars. New ideas and styles are always available and the list goes on and on.

My advice is to try and budget your money the best you can and figure out your prioritizes. Although, I gotta say I'm not very good at it. I tell myself it takes practice haha.

The GT500 Wing came yesterday...Looks great, paint is a perfect match, again from AM. Just finished putting it on. The stock wing is a royal pain in the *** to get off. It really helps to use a heat gun to soften the Ford sticky tape. Plus running a razor blade as you lift. The easiest way that I found to take off the old tape residue is to just run your fingers across it to slowly roll it up.

It makes a huge difference in the appearance of the car....

Here is a write up that I just did on another thread...

I did it about two weeks ago. As others have stated, the hard work is taking the stock spoiler off. I ended up getting a cheap heat gun from Harbor Freight to help the process. I tried to just work it off, but ended up breaking one of the "wings" off the stock spoiler. I used plastic spreaders and the heat gun. It really helps to weaken the 3M tape. Start on one end, loosen, and slowly work your way to the other end. I also used a razor blade to cut the tape as I was able to get some wiggle room. Once the wing was off, the remaining tape came off with good old finger power. I tried the plastic spreader, but that really didn't work. I remembered reading somewhere that you can just start rolling the tape with your fingers, kind of like that rubber glue that attaches credit cards to the mailing paper. Just keep rolling it. That technique actually ended up being the easiest and cleanest.
Once you are ready to install the new spoiler, take just a little of the backer off the new 3M tape. Just enough to help you hold the wing in place while you put in the new screws. Once you have the wing in place, but not tightened all the way, you can now pull the rest of the tape backer off.
The color match and paint quality are great. Mine is Deep Impact Blue and you cannot tell a difference between the factory paint and the after market parts from AM...

Hope this helps...

From start to finish a little less than 2 hours. Most of that was getting the old wing off and cleaning up the old 3M tape. The nice thing is, if you gouge the paint a little it doesn't really matter. The new wing is huge compared to the stock one. It covers any mistakes...

Lol, yeah maybe for light bulbs, but there is no way in hell I would have bought my gt500 spoiler to match Candy apple red metallic perfectly unless it was from a reputable vender like AM off of eBay. Light bulbs and phone cases yes. Lol

^^^^ There are vendors on EBAY that buy returns from AM and sell them on EBAY , I got my side painted scoops and mirror caps at half the AM catalog price and they are perfect/no damage.

Cool, I got the painted mirror caps also, I couldn't believe the difference it made compared to the generic black ones! You like them?
