Tune issue Bama X4/SF4

Not too sure if it's an issue and not a big deal but I just installed the 91 Octane tune on my car and I'm pretty certain it threw off my speedometer. Anyone else with this issue? Suggestions?

I might be thinking about it too much but I'm pretty sure everyone that's going the same speed as me on the freeway aren't going 100MPH

Yeah, go this route, and if it still does it ask for another tune from bama.

rnaltamirano,

It sounds like there was a mistake with your rear gear ratio or tire height within your 91 Bama tune. This is a very easy fix though, so don't worry. In fact, I can take care of everything on our side for you and have the new tunes emailed out to you ASAP.

I just need you to send me your First/Last name, Shipping Address and your rear gear ratio and rear tire size. I'll have one of the Bama guys tweak your tunes real quick for the correct specs and you'll be good to go! Also, make sure your Bama X4 tuner is updated to the firmware. I suggest updating before you uploaded the new tunes.

Hit me up if you have any other questions or concerns!

Shane

Can't you adjust the rear gear yourself?

Yes on the tuner...isn't that one of the parameters that is adjustable by the end user?

I dont think so, it would require adjusting shift points also if auto.

Lol, yes you need the tuner to adjust it, but i believe it means re-writing new tunes as it would also have to adjust shift points if auto. Am/Bama will send new ones.

But then again I don't write tunes so I could very well be completely wrong! Lol. On the way back home Friday after picking my car up from the shop with my new gears just installed I called my wife that was following me just to make sure our speed was the same. Going from 2.73s-3.73s it almost felt like my highway speed was way off but everything checked out.

I had the exact same problem.

My tune had the incorrect rear end ratio. Once the corrected tune was installed, the problem was gone. Just call AM/Bama and they'll fix you up real quick.

And as a side note..... my Bama Hybrid Tune is great! I highly recommend it if you want top performance out of street 3.7.

Correct, the end user cannot adjust any parameters by themselves. We disable this option, so our tunes can be consistent and we can stand behind them!

If you ever need an adjustment from the Bama Team, you'll find they crank out tools fairly quickly. Especially for something simple like a gear change.

The 93 Hybrid tune is a little torque'er than the Race. It's basically a combination of the low end power from the Street tune and the high end power of the Race tune. We only have this available for the 05-14 Mustangs upon request. If you'd like to try it out, give the Bama Team a shout at the number in my signature!
