I just installed the Mac Axel back and it sounds pretty good. Quite at idle but roars when you get on it. A little drone but nothing crazy. I never heard the Pypes you're talking about but be careful with a V6 and exhausts. On some the drone will make you mental!! I had one on my 350z that really was unbearable. It sounded great but you couldn't even have a conversation,

That's like asking what the best color in the world is. Everyone has their opinions. I run the Pype bombs myself, but it took me some time to get used to them. THEY ARE LOUD, and they DRONE around 1800 rpm in my car, however, they sound amazing especially with a a full exhaust + resonator setup.

The V6 is raspy and poppy especially with aftermarket exhausts.

Don't ever expect it to sound like a V8.

I realize you're new to the forums, but did you happen to try using the "Search" feature first, because there are literally hundreds of threads in this section alone about people's thoughts on different exhausts.

Yeah these guys are right. Exhaust is very subjective. Some dont mind loud and drony where others do. I also agree the V6 raspy and poppy, I was really surprised how much so.

Take a ride over to mac and take some pics of the new 3.7 headers and post them up.

i just sold my pype bombs for dirt cheap, just keep in mind there are some fitment issues with them, and if you plan on getting full exhaust they probably arent the best idea if you dont like obnoxiously loud

If you honestly think you can make a V6 sound like a V8 without doing a motor swap, then you may want to get your ears checked haha

I've got the Bassani (search my threads for review) I like but more European than V8. As mentioned lots of the V6's will drone with aftermarket slight w/Bassani but I scored them used & local so were worth it. I never heard the Pypes in person but I'd worry about drone and what my wife calls "stupid loud"

edit, idk about the full Bassani mine are axle back only.....

+1, No matter what you do to your exhaust it will NEVER sound like a V8!! It might sound very good as a 6 but you aren't going to get an 8 cylinder sound from a 6cylinder, its just plain physics. No one has to get their ears checked, just use some common sense, and I say that with no disrespect!

+1000!! Its never going to happen. The Mac exhaust I have does sound very good for a V6. Ive received many compliments in the past few days. To the untrained ear it may sound like a V8 though. When non-car people have heard my car and I tell them its a V6 they are surprised,so yes it can sound good...even great, but still not the V8 sound.

Save your money and buy a catback. It'll sound waaaaaaay better and youll be glad you did.

Hit up your local exhaust shop and see what custom set-up that they can put together for you.

Ive had foxbody guys and 4.6 guys tell me my car sounds better than their 8's after they chirped me for buying a v6

Pype bomb are great for the price! They have minor fitment issue but it can be fixed easily. The sound mean & deep but they do drone a bit..wasn't too bad for me tho! Ion my old 3.7 I had pype bombs with Lts/x pipe with resonators & it sounded BA!

Lol, Dude your(boostedstang) too funny. Almost any aftermarket exhaust will sound similar at idle, V6-V8 its once you get on it. Hell my Roush sound like a Shelby at idle lol.

No need to get your panties in a bunch plus there is no way to get a LS1 to sound nice either.

Good luck

Lmao! There's a scooter down the street that must have bassini's on it because it sounds like a GT! Again exhaust sound is all personal preference but you cannot get a V8 sound from a V6. You can get a deep sounding V6 that to my mom sounds like a V8 (love ya mom lol) but any car enthusiast will tell your a 6 and not an 8! There is nothing wrong with a V6 sounding mustang.

Lmao! Good 1! His argument is so weak. But that's OK, maybe he wants to slap some 5.0 badges on it. He only has 9 posts, some like to troll.
