I got the one without the cap

If your looking for quality and a great fit. You can't go wrong. I got the one to eliminate the fake gas cap.

It fits perfect and I'm sure the one your looking at will be just fine.

Cheaper alternative

I decided NOT to spend $100+ on a piece of plastic and instead did it myself with a can of Plastidip. Looks just as good for $5.

If you have the $, get a custom made carbon fiber decklid panel made however you want. No one will have the same as you, and you'll be able to pick exactly how you want your decklid.

Yep, I just took 30 mins to properly plastidip it and it looks clean as hell and a lot better than the $130 MMD panel that is literally just a piece of plastic that sticks to your decklid. You can do custom colors with plastidip too!

not to thread jack, but quick question for you: I see you have the SR lowering springs. I'm thinking of investing in a pair, but I don't want to spend the money on additional pieces, ex. camber plates etc. Did you just throw the SR springs onto your stock v6 and have no problems?

Just SR springs and adjustable panhard bar. Rides great, just a little stiffer than stock, but handles and looks sooooo much better than stock!

Op For the 13-14 model what do you think of this one? I believe its the RTR rear deck lid panel with an added pony. IMO looks a lot nicer/classier than the AM rear deck lid. Just a thought. http://mustangsdaily.com/blog/wp-con...gs-la-2013.jpg

Awesome. Do you recommend the adj. versus just a normal PH bar? I know the install is almost $300 for the springs so just trying to trim some costs.

Yeah you'll need it, once you lower the Axel will push off center, the adjustable panhard bar corrects this.

Looks good, but I am looking for more of a matte finish. I do like the idea of the panel matching the license plate surround. Plus it looks a lot like the one I had for my '67 Fastback years ago. Although that had more of a honeycomb design to it.

Plastidip man. Put on 5-6 coats and let it cure for 2 weeks before washing. It'll look awesome.

I love how people have been asking AM to do this forever and they finally build something that gets rid of the piano black blackout panel and then everyone's like "actually we should just Plastidip it." Lmao

Good point. I like the idea if the panel having the same pattern as the license surround and not just flat. I'll probably order it in the next couple of weeks. To me it gives the back end a little more of that retro look I like.

That's the beauty of Mustangs, they can be highly personalized.

Lol to each there own, some people don't want to mess with the dip and that's fine. I've had nothing but good outcomes with it. I've dipped my wheels, center caps, badges and all have come out perfectly. Most people that do seem to have problems do not put enough coats on, they usually do 3 and call it a day, when you need more like 5-6 to make it right.

I'll use plastidip for anything I possible can, I'm currently letting my dipped white lug nuts cure for another week or so before I see how those hold up to a wrench. The wait is killing me.

Ya, now all we need to do is get one lol. waiting for the RTR to get back in stock. then I am going to matte black it, att the pony I have already done in black and clear matte the lights to finish off the section.
