AM Quarter Window Louvers Question

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if the quarter window louvers offered by American Muscle sit flush up against the car after installation, or is there a gap because of the 3m tape? If there is some gap, how noticeable is it?

I have them on my 2014 and they fit flush. One side was slightly warped, when I received it, but I slowly heated it with a heat gun and straightened it. It probably was bent when shipped or from the heat when shipping. Other than that been on for six months and looks really good.

Thanks man! I'm curious, did you use the provided tape? I've read in a couple of threads that people recommend purchasing tape ( to be sure the louvers stay intact) however I don't want to purchase the tape and then the louver not fit flush

I put my louvers on last month with the supplied 3M industrial hook and loop (Velcro) and have no problem. Even at highway speeds. I was leary about it, but once they are attached, they really are attached. You can remove them during washing to get the windows clean and pop them back on....

The Louvers definitely sit flush. The 3M tape is thin and placed in the right spots so that you won't have any sort of "popping out" look. The supplied 3M tape is very strong, as you can see these guys aren't having any issues with their Louvers at all!

Just make sure the service is dry, clean and doesn't have any wax on it. Other than that you're in good shape!

I bought some and stripped wax using the alcohol and then used the tape that came with it and in a couple days it was peeling off. I recommend going to autozone or wherever and get some 3M automotive tape. Been on there for about 8 months and its still holding strong.

Oh really? Was the tape you purchased any thicker and did you notice a difference in the fit of the louvers against the car? Thanks!

Tape was a little thicker and the Louvers went on the same, they just stayed there better. Just do this because it is a huge pain removing them from the car.

I bought some of these and installed them about a week ago. Last night I had to pull them off because some of the tape wasnt sticking. To me it appears the louvers themselves are a little "tweaked" its mainly at the top. Im going to try to re tape them and reapply them tonight. It was a ***** getting off the old tape, which is why I think they are tweaked.

Yep I feel your pain. Just buy 3m automotive tape and you're good to go

I have the same situation and i have to retape it and now they are perfect flush. I got them at autozone 3m automotive tape and its a pain to get the old one off and be careful you might scratch your paint pulling them off. Heres mine now..Click image for larger version

Turtle Wax sell a spray called Sticker Remover. Its aerosol and it seems to work pretty good. Still takes a lot of elbow grease though.
