Welcome to MEVO.

But I must ask... Why the 05-10 GT emblem on a 14 V6? Makes no sense, but, to each his own. I do like that unique decal on the hood.

^^^^ The S197 early V8 GT had the same HP +or-, so I see it as a proper emblem in white plus on the hood I added V6HO emblems also in whte, the last S197's share the same look

I can see where you're coming from, but as far as I know all GT's ever produced have always had a fixed number of 8 cylinders, regardless of "horsepower numbers," ever think ab that?

But its not a gt no matter how u compare it. Sorry but I just hate when people mismatch badges. Otherwise, congrats on the car.

The car has 305 horsepower, not 302. 302 is the cubic inch displacement of the 5.0 liter motor. GT is also the model of the car, it doesn't just stand for a car with a certain amount of power.

It would be like someone putting GTO badges on their Tempest and saying that their car is putting out the same power so it's a GTO. It will never be a GTO because GTO was not the model it was produced as.

Put some horsepower decals on it and leave it at that. That is what I did on mine. Leave it to the people who don't know much about Mustangs to figure out what it is.

I think the car looks great. Personally the GT badges aren't my thing, but no one is paying your car payment, so I say do what you want. The people that seem to hate it are ones who think that if you loose a race to a "lesser" car they may brag they beat a GT. I find this hilarious...

Other than one person, I don't know that anyone said they "hate" it. I also don't know how many of us cared about the GT beating, especially since some of us are driving 6ers. I just think that the OP is opening himself up to a lot of verbal harassment on the street because the exhaust is a dead giveaway that the car is not what he is passing it off to be. It would be different if he put something else on there that wasn't an actual production model designation. Agreed, in the end it is his car so it is purely up to him what he does with it.

It is the last S197 model, the nose and rear are unique , so I made my own version with the early type GT emblems in white and V6HO white emblems on the hood , plus the blue Shelby inspired hood stripe, mirror caps, side scoops. FWIW

Nice looking car, but the GT badges have to go! It angers the V6 and V8 gods!! Like someone else has also mentioned the car has 305 not 302hp.

Your not getting it! I'd love to see you use that at a car show when people ask what it is your driving. Good luck with that.

I think most of us know what GT and GTO stand for, but like I said earlier, it also specifies a certain model on a Mustang. But I also said it is your car, do as you wish. Just don't be surprised when people keep bugging you about it out there and you have to keep explaining to them why you put it on there. It will get old and take some of the fun out of the car for you. Car still looks good.

Yeah , we get it. It's a grand tourer car. Very clever, but you used the same badges that ,for everyone else in the world, denote that the vehicle is a Mustang GT. I mean, you're free to do as you wish, but you're explanation is just as loose as me putting a Ferrari emblem in my front grill and claiming that a mustang is a sort of horse and the Ferrari emblem has one too. Like I definitely could, but I'd understand if people thought It was dumb.

Otherwise, love the ride. Blue on white is nice

Who takes a recent car model that is a popular car rental to car shows. Maybe the S197 wide body 1k HP Shelby will be a show attendee .

Huh? A lot of people out here take their newer 6 and 8 Mustangs to car shows. Some shows are even just for Mustangs. There is a show in Wisconsin every year named Horses and Hogs. All Mustangs and Harleys.

This is my daily driver, commuter car. 3,230 miles in two month. Paid peanuts for it brand spanking new. I don't drag it or race it , just a fun car to toss around

New here but not to the PONY

Just for clarification (since everyone is getting technical);

05-09 GT - 300HP / 320TQ
2010 GT - 315HP / 325TQ

2011 V6 - 305HP / 280TQ

Horsepower doesn't win races, torque does

Looks like the original post with the 302 reference was edited.

New here but not to the PONY

Putting on GT/5.0 badges is HIGHLY frowned upon here. I suggest you ditch the GT emblem and come up with a custom one.

Aside from that your car looks great!

FWIW , those badges/emblems never came in white from FOMOCO, so in essence they are not true OEM FORD Mustang GT parts.

GT emblems are on several Korean cars, German cars, Japanese cars, Italian cars , etc, FOMOCO holds no patent on them

Toydos I have to give you some props man. Usually when we get new members here and their first post contains something that people don't like (i.e. your badges), after 5 posts they leave with anger and never come back. If you ever get past this thread, I promise this is a nice little community.
