MPT ghost tune

I am considering getting ordering my first tune, after research between bama and mpt I think I'm going to punch the ticket and go with mpt. I saw that they have a ghost idle option, has any tired this and if so how do you like it. I have a 2014 v6 manual with a airraid CAI and borla exhaust.....

Bama and MPT are both great tuners. I have both and can say I definitely noticed a little more torque from the MPT although I prefer bama for daily, everyday driving. I would suggest NOT going with the ghost cam tune and instead just get the performance tune. The ghost cam is more of a novelty tune than one actually designed for performance. so if all you are looking for is that loping sound then fine.. but if you are looking for performance, get the 93 performance tune.

Don't ghost can tunes decrease your gas mileage?

You said bama would be better for daily driving, did you have any issues with you initial tunes. From reading different threads it appears bama tunes are more generic (issues with wrong rear gear ratios loaded in tunes) and I don't want to waste a lot of time emailing back and forth to have them correct my tunes....

My tune that I got from Bama worked perfectly when I first got it. The only thing was after about two months I had a minor problem where it seemed like the tune was disappearing from my car and I had to keep tuning it every few days to keep the performance up. I called them and they sent me a new batch of tunes that were fixed no problem. Now it continues to run perfect. Bama's customer service is great. I really doubt you will have any problems.

How so? Lower fuel mileage just to acheive a lopy idle?

Do you have an automatic or manual? With the car not retaining the tune

Auto. They have supposedly fixed this issue on all their tunes. You wouldn't have anything to worry about.

I don't think you can go wrong with either option. However, I can promise you that we won't leave you hanging. I see you have some concerns and don't want to deal with any issues. I honestly can say I don't think you will have any issues. However, if you do I'll personally make sure you're taken care of, quickly!

We also offer a Ghost Cam tune. The Cam tune will dump a little bit more fuel at idle, however after you start driving everything goes back to normal. So the gas mileage isn't really all that different.

Hope this helps!

Hey Dan, are there any other issues with ghost cam tunes worth mentioning? I've always kinda thought the bad outweighed the good with them... Are there any other negatives except for mpgs?

Hey,

I don't think so. I ran the Ghost Cam tune on my car and it was pretty cool. There's no real negative effects to the car, besides the gas mileage will decrease a little bit. Nothing all that crazy, though! All and all, you did purchase a Mustang so MPG couldn't have been a "must have" when buying the car.

We haven't had any problems at all with the Ghost Cam tune.

Hope this helps!

-Dan

Hey Dan. I was under the impression the ghost cam was just for the 5.0 and not v6s

The more I research ghost cam tunes, I keep hearing that they can burn up your cats and many -of the people who choose to get a ghost tune are catless. Anyone who has ghost cams wanna chime in on that?

No cats are needed for ghost cam tune.

The overly rich mixture that is added during idle to acheive the idle is what used to burn up the cats (too much raw fuel). The new ghost cam tunes have resolved this. Talk with Dan at AM...he can explain this in better detail.

So Am offers a ghost tune for the v6?

Really? If so, that must be new because for the longest time AM only offered its ghost cam tune for the V8 model!

I don't get why AM won't make one for the v6 considering there are probably more 3.7s with ghost cams then 5.0s.. Seriously if I had a 5.0 I'd just get real cams.

Real cams cost real money so that is the difference.

Well duh lol. But it's not hard to save up at the same time . If I could get cams for my 3.7 I'd save for them immediately. Just my opinion though.

There is a guy name Tom who runs Lone Wolf who ports the intake for a good price and is great guy to work with.
