Hey Guys! I finally bought my first Mustang and am absolutely in love with it! I can't wait to start working in it but am a little overwhelmed with all the options lol. Any suggestions for first engine or exterior mod?

Thanks ahead of time!

Name is James btw and am a US Army vet, Personal Trainer and now Mustang Fanatic!

New springs and shocks/struts. If you aren't worried about your warranty, a tuner and cold air intake will make a big difference. Congratulations on getting your Mustang by the way and welcome to the forum, its been a great help for me.

Dealer told me a bolt on like CAI not requiring a tune would not void any warranty. A tune could but only if it could be proven that the tune cause the problem. I first went with MMD hood and side scoops. Then Borla Touring axelbacks (I'm not 16 so I went conservative but they still sound angry) then CAI. Later today I put my first tune on!!!

Let the modding begin!!
I have had mine for a year now and my list keeps growing. I personally did window tint first, followed up with the axle back exhaust. Enjoy your new stang!

I see you got the FP6 package, a great start in the appearance. Get some smoked light tint from AM. They'll compliment the black exterior parts on the car, especially the taillights with the blackout decklid. A black billet upper and lower grille would also look sharp with that ruby red.

Yeah I considered doing the back window louver but did notice the sun really hits the interior so I was going to tint first! The exhaust was a bit of a concern because I did want more of a V8 growler but not the "16 and silly" exhaust lol... The interior is black, simple but with sync.. I was thinking of the aftermarket navigation on American Muscle but not sure if it will be worth the hassle... Wow now I'm ranting.. Haha

Anyway thanks everyone for the welcome... Feels good to be part of a group after the military and can't wait to meet others in the MD area... Plus anyone ever wants a workout I will do it for free with any other mustang member

Thank you for your service and welcome to the Mustabg family! I've had my '06 GT convertible for 2 years now and continue to love it! Careful though, once the "mod" bug hits - forget about it! Hahahahaha

I would definitely do the black louvers!!! I painted mine and they look awesome IMO. Also added a front chin splitter, 20% tint, and a cdc grille. I wouldn't get the nav system off AM though. Looks a little overpriced and you can find a lot of different options out there.

Welcome to the forum and thank you for your service! I did window tint on my car first. Its a cheap way to change the look of the car plus it definitely has been a lifesaver with the summer sun starting to come out. Next, if your not worried about voiding the warranty go for a mpt tune and a nice set of 3.73 gears. These will completely transform your cars performance. Good luck and happy modding!

Don't let them BS you on that. They can't void the warranty with any bolt ons. Now they can fight you and say the mod caused it but Magnusson-Moss act prevents any company from voiding a warranty due to modifications unless they can prove the modification was the cause of a failure or issue.

Welcome! Currently in the Army hooah! Definitely go with a CAI, tune, and maybe exhaust. Good first mods. Exterior, some tint would be nice.

Can't wait to see pics of the tint. What percentage you end up going with?
