Question about getting window louvers (ebay)

Hey guys i was looking at getting some louvers and on AM they are $200 which is ridiculous price IMO for two pieces of plastic.

I looked at ebay and they have a bunch of different ones for $50 ish dollars but these are the ones i like the best.

05 13 Ford Mustang Quarter Side Window Louvers Board V6 Only | eBay

The thing is it says on there for mustang 05-13 and i have 2014. I am pretty sure the back side window is same size so why would it not include 2014.

Also has anyone purchased loavers from ebay ... how were they?

2013 and 2014 models are the same so you shouldn't have a problem.

Have you asked the seller this question ? Also the image on E-Bay makes it look like those louvers mount on the paint around the side window and NOT the window only. Ask them about this as well.

My guess is that the ebay store has not updated the information on these and at the time the most recent model was the 13's. Also for how it says 'V6's only' would make me cautious on their knowledge of these cars and the quality parts there selling. I am always cautious about putting any parts on my car that I don't know who manufactured them. Another thing to consider is that the ebay ones don't appear to be painted. If you look on AM's website the MMD unpainted ones are only $80 and they essentially charge you $120 to paint them. Which is probable cheaper then a quality body shop to paint.

Another thing to consider is just because the pictures look the same doesn't mean that the quality is the same. I've read several people on here who bought cheap louvers and ended up taking them off due to terrible fitment or noise that the made at highway speeds.

Yes i sent him a question asking if it will fit 2014 even though i am pretty sure it will because if it fits 2013 it should fit 2014... I also asked if the double side tape comes with it as its not mentioned in the ad.

See there is this one that comes with everything i just dont like the way this one looks.

I don't live to far from where this place is. There are more than a few warehouses that sell on eBay in this area and to be honest I don't trust none of them. I've bought exhaust a couple of times from that area and they were very low quality. Do yourself a favor and do it right. Just go to AM and get them painted. I bought some of they're pre painted louvres and they cost me less painted than if I bought unpainted ones and had to have them painted. Paint alone where I live is a minimum of 200.00 charge.

autoanything has a pair for $60 if you are worried about ordering from ebay. I have had mines installed for about 2 months now or 3 I forget, but they have been great and no complaints.

I guess ill just pass then.

I just plasti dipped my wheels i am about to post a thread on it. I think getting the loavers might be going a bit overboard with the black considering i have my tail lights blacked out too.

I dont know ill see. Maybe ill just get them from AM later on.

You'll get what you pay for. The AM products are top of the line in fit and finish. Those eBay louvers look pretty lightweight and cheesy. I think passing is a good idea. Save up and get some good ones.

I looked into getting the unpainted ones and found out that AM really is a better deal vs. finding a good shop to paint them. A quality shop around here would charge between $350-$700 to match a set of louvres... crazy! If you have a good connection or can do the paint yourself, it may be worth it.

I actually bought a pair of unpainted ones for 45 dollars and got them painted for 100 at a local body shop. They did ok matching the paint and looks good but if I had to do it again I would buy the ones from AM.

So far for the 2 pre painted items I bought from AM were perfect. I bought the louvers and the GT500 spoiler. It looks factory.

If you do not have a problem with absolute blind spots, install Eleanor's...

I removed mine within a month. It was hard enough to look out towards the right when exiting my neighborhood.

Suggestion: take a cardboard box, cut it out and insert it on the inside of the rear quarter windows, then drive around for a day. See if it's alright for you.

They look nice, but do create a nasty rearward blind spot.

Not doubting the looks...this is why I bought a set painted in Race Red. Installed them and admired the nice look.

Then drove the car for a month.

For me, the blind spot looking out to the right when exiting to the left created a problem. I had to adjust how I made left turn exits in order to be able to see rearward.

For me, the looks did not outweigh functionality of being able to see out of the side quarter windows.
