I was thinking of getting those as well. It's either the pype bombs or a roush axel backs. I'm leaning more towards the pypes because from the videos I've seen, in my opinion, they sound more deep and muscular.....if that makes sense lol

Well if you just want to be loud and obnoxious, get the Roush

Personally, I prefer my catback, a nice sound on the 3.7 due to the mid-muffler design (Pypes at least) and you'll actually see some power gains (very small, but better than nothing from the axle backs)

Once you're ready to do some real work, Headers will open up that exhaust. Once I did my longtubes and X-pipe the note became savage.

I say Roush also, they are loud, fitmit is perfect (pypes are terrible)and the 4" rolled tips look so much better the the "straight cut pipe" look. Trust me, at wot its race car loud! I love mine, IMO its how a stang should sound. You won't notice any HP gains from any Axel backs.

Your welcome. Pypes will also be loud if you chose to go that route.

What gears do you have? I had the 2.73s and while drone was not bad at all it is present between 1500-2000rpm in 6th. Now with my 3.73s its non existent because I'm never in those cruising RPMS anymore.

I still have the 2.73s on mine. I probably won't switch to 3.73s til a little later down the road. I'm perfectly fine with a little drone. I just still want to be able to hear music or have a simple conversation without having trouble cause of the drone.

Its really not that bad. What I accidentally noticed is if the windows is open like a 1/4 inch it almost completely eliminated the drone.

A lot of people say that the Roush ones sound like caca with an off road x pipe...
Well my question is: has anyone heard them with an H-pipe instead?

I have the black pype bombs and I could not be happier with them. They are loud but not wailers, and they have a deep muscle tone to them. And the black exhaust tips look so cool. For the price they cannot be beat either, almost half the cost of any other AB.

I love my pypes. They sound aggressive, deep, and loud. Plus for the price you can just get a shop to line up your exhaust for you lol

Also before you get the ABs consider what other exhaust mods ur gonna do in the future! I had pype bombs by them selfs & it sounded sick! When I did LTs/x pipe it sounded like poop till I put some resonators on there & then it sounded like sex!

No worries bro! Yea that is a catback but it's not the pype bombs it's made by pypes the company! A catback is just basically exhaust from the mid pipe & back so it replaces the over the axle pipes & muffles!

Do you have any vids of that set up? I've been looking for any with shorties/Roush/ off road or catted x. All vids I've seen with LTS, catted or offroad x and Roush sound like poop. I'd like to go with a catted x with my shorties and Roush but I'm afraid its going to sound like dog crap.

I have the pype bombs and before I added so many mods I loved them but as of recently I decided to go with the borla stingers. Here is some negatives and positives in my book.
My mods include -bbk CIA -bbk short headers - bama tune - pypes muffle deletes.

PROS

Before my headers man the pype bombs were loud and furious.. At take off it sounds amazingly aggressive.. If loud is what your aiming for these will for sure help you get there. The sound is by far really good but it dosnt hold it's tone to well but I really did love these pype bombs I am only replacing because my short headers toned them down so much and I wanna go a different route in terms of tone

CONS

After 3-4th gear and at high revs the amazing rumble turns into a scream lol and losses much of it's tone.. From 3k and above RPM's these really really scream and it's impossible to keep then quiet unless ur foots off the gas completely lol expect your butt dyno to feel the vibrations.. The fitment is very iffy!! More then half struggle with fitment and then you might also have a rattle because of the design (easily fixed) but regardless there will be contact.. I posted a fix on how I did it here..
This is a great starter exhaust in my opinion and I would of keep it but I heard the borlas in person and my jaw dropped.. I'll post videos for you to hear

Best advise would be to find a local mustang club and try to join and see what axel backs other members have and hear them in person.. That's how I came down to the conclusion of choosing my borla stingers

If you decide to go roush I am selling my roush axle backs for 350 shipped! They have only been use for 3 months, i am selling then because they are a way to loud for my taste.

If I sell then I will get borla type-s

I have had the Pypes Pypebombs since Jan 2013 and love them. Roush and Flowmaster AB for this car are overrated overpriced and in my opinion the Pypebombs have a better exhaust note.

I dont regret my Pypes one bit. The Flowmasters that I have on my G8 sound amazing but then again that is a complete custom setup and still cost me less than what Roush and Flowmasters want for a set of axlebacks for this car. The only regret that I have is that I didnt get them in black so I may sell mine just to get some black ones but again for the most bang for your buck Pypes is where it is at. lol.
