3.7 nitrous

Hey I'm thinking about using nitrous but don't know what kit to buy. I never used nitrous before. Should I go with a NOS sniper kit? And do u have to have a tune with it?

This is the kit I will personally be going with - 2011-2014 3.7L V6 Mustang Hard-line Plate System - Ford Systems - EFI Wet Nitrous Systems

and this - Brand X Stage 2 Accessory Package for 4AN Systems - Accessory Packages - Nitrous Accessories

There is nothing wrong with the NOS Sniper kits, I just think the two things I listed are of better quality and price. It is also made specifically for a 3.7 Mustang.

Yes you will need a tune. Depending on the size of the shot, you may need to go to a 1 step colder spark plug (copper or iridium, NOT platinum). Generally for every 75 shot of nitrous you should drop to a 1 step colder plug.

You shouldn't need to. However, deleting them or going with higher flow cats wouldn't be a bad idea.

That kit is $700, the sniper kit is only $420 right?

It looks like the Sniper kit goes for around $420. However, that is only about half of what you need.

You will need a window switch, a blow down tube, purge kit and bottle warmer.

Like I also mentioned, the Nitrous Outlet kit is specifally designed for the 3.7 Mustang. So all of the wiring, mounting points, etc, will be exact. With the NOS kit, you will have to figure all that stuff out yourself.

The Nitrous Outlet kit also uses a plate instead of a nozzle. The plate systems tend to produce better results as it atomizes the nitrous and fuel better than the nozzle systems.

Also, nozzle systems are more likely to cause fuel puddling in the intake, usually resulting in the upper intake and hood being blown off the car. This is the result of the fuel not being atomized well enough.

It's your money, buy what you want. I however, will be spending my money on the setup I listed.
