It's a peelable spray. Six bucks a can. Spray it on, if you like it peel it off and order the decal. If you don't like it, your not out a hundred. YouTube plasti dip

Good Question! We use Oracle Vinyl here that has up to an 8 year Warranty (Not a Typo!) It's definitely one of the cooler mods that you can have installed in comparison to having the roof painted or plastidipped. We have some great Customer Submitted Images on the Product Page so you can get an idea of how it's going to look on yours as well as a step by step Installation Guide so you know what you're getting into!

Let me know if you have any questions and I hope this helps!

I did this to my Evo X and it looked BA. The install isn't too hard if you have patience. I recommend doing a wet install if it is your first time with a vinyl install of this size.

Please no Plastidip on anything....isn't every one over this stuff yet.

I'd say vinyl first and see how you like it. It's not like its super expensive and if you like it it's done. I painted the roof on my Nissan Maxima and it looked great. I was able to get it done for 250.00.

I was just saying that plasti dip is six bucks a can. It's a cheap and easy way to find out if you like something.

Every time I use plasti dip I'm disappointed. I just used it on my grille and hate how it laid down. I've had some really beautiful projects with rattle cans and wet sanding, plasti dip is nothing more than a non slip surface. 2 cents.

Personally, I don't think it's a lot of black at all. I might do a similar thing to mine as well.

I heard that the spray bomb plasti dip is dangerous for the clear coat. The decal is a neat idea.

Willmorg, I think the roof would look killer in black! I would do the trunk too. Roush made a model which was all black on the top surfaces, regardless of the bottom color. Really looked awesome!

Either one or the other

Either paint that hood the same color as your Mustang or do like some suggest. Paint the roof and trunk lid and spoiler to match the hood.
Is that hood painted black or is it just the raw black plastic ??
If it is just the raw black plasic color it will need to be painted too.

At first glance it does look like the glass roof. Looks good.

It was $1000 for hood, roof, trunk, spoiler, and decklid. Also vinyl was $200 total so divide the paint up by $800

You don't think it would be too much black?

I asked the same thing as its been on my build list since June. Went to pull the trigger last week and >poof<.

No one has any word on whether they'll carry it again. If they don't have it by next month I'm going to check with my buddy at the bodyshop to see if he can source high quality vinyl locally, and/or compare what it would cost to just paint it.

Having a white car I really want that nice shiny black top-to-tinted window combination.

Me too. That's why I'm going to dip mine black and throw on a few coats of gloss. It won't be glassy but will still have a nice shine. Way cheaper than vinyl too!
