By any chance so you have short headers?

Let them build up some carbon. New mufflers with 0 carbon build up will sound slightly different after 2k once they get a little carbon. When you hear the term "break in" on a muffler that is what is meant.

Weld in Pypes Hi-flow cats in place of your stock cats or if you have the money go with a Mac prochamber with Pypes cats welded in. Trust me I've been through several exhaust combos on the 3.7 and if you want it to be louder and still sound awesome this is the way to go. I have BBK shorty headers + stock mid pipe with a custom H pipe welded in + Borla S Types right now on the car and I will be doing one of the two options I suggest in a few months.

I have the off road bbk x pipe with the borla s and man is it loud at 3rpms plus, idle is not super loud if that's what you're looking for. Will be adding Mac headers as well.

So after a couple miles my stingers started sounding real good at idle and the roar stayed across the whole rpm band which was what I was looking for I think I found a winner in axel backs lol

Just purchased a Ford Racing x-pipe! Got it for $60 brand new, couldn't be happier. Hopefully it sounds good with my exhaust! (Just pype bomb AB's)

Get you a pro chamber and weld it in the mid pipe. $400 from Mac performance exhaust.

I paid like 580 something with my Discount from AM.. My next investment is also going to be a mid pipe.. I just gotta figure out which one. Let me know how the x pipe makes your pype bombs.. I'm scared to go X because of the rasp

I had Borla Stingers for the 05-09 GT on my 2006 V6 and transferred them over to my 2010 GT and the idle gurgle which couldn't be heard easily on my V6 (but very loud when I got on it) can be heard very easily on my GT all around the car. Prob just a V8 thing.

I will as soon as they arrive in the mail and I get them put on! I'm a little nervous as well but I figured I would try it since I got it for $61 brand new why not.

I would go with the bbk pipe if I was in your spot. There are a few videos on YouTube of v6s with that pipe and it sounds nice. I know you haven't had the best experience with them but they are a damn good brand.

Not to get this thread off topic or anything, but does anybody know if its legal to run a catted x pipe in NY? I've heard a few different things, one being that if you change the location of your cats at all you wont pass inspection.

I completely disagree. All the videos Ive seen with x pipes are way to raspy. If you wanted the x pipe and it did have to much rasp for you some resonators should fix that.

Its my knowledge that you can't. That's why I went with the cut and clamp Ford racing x pipe.

I've been playing with the idea of switching my pype bombs out with s-types. I'm becoming tired of the drone. Came across this thread and I think you sold me on it haha. Did you ever decide on a midpipe? I liked the way my Lethal h-pipe sounded enough to have a shop modify it so that it works with the Borla longtube headers that I installed.

I love my borla s-types they are an amazing product I highly recommend it lol the drone is 0 compared to the pype bombs but I am still deciding on a mid pipe.. I am going to wait till I heard the difference in person.. Don't want to invest into it to just take it off lol I did that with the pipe bombs and never again

Yep I have an extra set that I got from my best frend after he totaled his six. He was going to do a similar setup to mines except he want to do the prochamber instead of a custom H-pipe like I have. So I'm selling these for him just haven't made an ad yet but I'm going to. I love my S-Types in my setup. Here is a link to a video. I will make a new one soon. My setup: BBK shorty headers, custom H-pipe welded in place of the stock hybrid H/X pipe, custom over the axle pipes to get rid of the flat spots and Borla S-Type axle backs.

Just to clarify the set I will be selling HAS NOT been installed or used. The buyer will see this. But enough about selling/buying as we have a section for that. I don't want to get this thread off track or get in trouble with the mods. If your interested pm me.
