Engine light

I have a question when I turn my key and put my car in accessory mode right before I start it, the engine light stays on but then when I turn the engine on the light goes off. Do y'all's mustangs do that? I am bama tuned

All cars are supposed to do that in some states the light has to work in order to get emissions tested but as long as it goes of right after you start it there is nothing to worry about

Good to know thanks. I googled it but couldn't find anything so I resorted to making a form...

Yes all your lights should come on when you turn the key pretty much showing that all of the light switches are working and then when you turn on the car they are suppose to turn off.


If the engine light was on when you turn on the car and start driving then i would start worrying. What is happening to you now is completely normal.
