How old is your neighbor? This is just such odd behavior for an adult, especially if they are a little older. I'm not doubting it was them, just can't believe they would do this and chance being seen by someone else that knows them, which is exactly what happened. Also, you would think if they were a little older they would have grown out of this behavior. Just not normal...makes we worry about what comes next.

Sorry to hear that you've been vandalized. If it was your neighbor, I hope you can prove it and have him arrested.

Hey sixbanger maybe you could shed some light on this security package. Or anyone... I've heard different things about the package... ford doesnt really tell much about the system... ive heard it has sensors on the hood so why no alarm?? He almost broke my windshield in... but I could tell he beat it hard cause my rear view mirror was tilted as far it could go down

Definitely old enough to know better AND care about the consquences. Usually this stems from jealousy.

Like I already insinuated.

Just go ask if he did it. You will know if he did it by the way he acts. If your sure he did it you can either do nothing or let some time pass and when it is all forgotten by most people and especially him.
Then let justice prevail.
I sure hope your insurance will cover all of the damage. It's just tragic that this happened to you for no apparent reason.

my factory alarm works with the factory fobs....like yours. w/o insulting do NOT confuse the PATS (passive anti-theft) with the active alarm system. The PATS is the chip in the key that prevents starting it does not sound an alarm.

From the owners manuaL:

ACTIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (IF EQUIPPED)

The active anti-theft system is designed to warn you in the event of an unauthorized entry to your vehicle and is also designed to help prevent the unwanted towing of the vehicle.

When the vehicle is locked and armed, the active anti-theft system monitors the following:

• Doors
• Hood
• Trunk
• Movement inside the vehicle
• Change in vehicle inclination

Note: The active anti-theft system includes a motion detection system which monitors the passenger cabin and a vehicle incline sensor which detects changes in vehicle attitude.

If you have the security package, you have the active anti theft. The dead giveaway that your vehicle has the active anti-theft is the 2 sensors mounted in the overhead lights. When you lock the car with the fob double-click the lock button and the horn sounds once-alarm is set.

Get your self some cameras/CCTV security and a nice 12 gauge. Use buck shot so it won't kill 'em but it'll disable them and sure as hell hurt them. Aim for center body mass/legs so they can't run away. Put a nice sign on your lawn that says "Intruders will be shot". Problem solved.

The only thing better then deterring someone from messing with your car is to render them physically incapable of doing so.

12 Gauge Shotgun to the shoulder joints and both knees would do the trick.

Ya just gotta wait until it is time.

Do not do anything right away. Just be sure you have the correct person. Let it all blow away and when it is old news and forgotten then you can borrow strange mud's back-hoe.

Good that is some BS. It has hood sensors it should be able to go off if someone is jumping on your hood. Not to mention a car alarm should go off if someone is attempting to kick your windshield through and jumping on your hood.

I've been trying to read up on it myself but haven't really found any info. I know that there are motion sensors in the cabin because the other day I locked it with the windows down and then stuck my head in without touching anything and the alarm went off.

Shouldn't have been hard to prove. If you lock it a red anti-theft light blinks continuously on the dash! What an idiot dealership...

I don't know if you can go just by that red light. My window sticker says that I have Securilock Pass Anti-theft and I have the blinking red light on my dash. I think you need to have the Active Anti-theft system to catch the things that happened to the OP's car.
