Problems with Bama Hybrid Tune

I have a '14 V6 Auto with the Bama 93 octane Hybrid Tune. The tune is great 90% of the time. MPG is very good and intitial accelleration is excellent. The problem occurs at full throttle when I reach 5th or 6th gear and the car hesitates and loses the excellent accelleration. It's like it bogs down. I have sent this question to AM/Bama but I haven't received a reply.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Yep I have had the same problem a few times. I have a manual tranny, and it used to jerk/hesitate under WOT. Keep an eye on your a/f ratio when it's misbehaving in gear 5

Sorry meant to elaborate more.. I feel it when I hit the gas hard.. The RPM's will fluctuate with a gradual loss of speed to only regain it self to continue up the RPM's .. I thought it was a gear issue but do believe it's a tune issue with gas and oxygen ratios.. I now need to figure out how to data log..

Plug your tuner into the OBII port, select Data Log from the menu, start the logging and run your car as normal. It will create a file you use the SCT software to pull from the tuner and that's what you send Bama. But they can give you more in-depth directions if need be.

Just got mine in today just for ****s and giggles. Runs pretty strong except they put a limiter of 105 mph for some reason, even though I asked to keep it removed . I e-mailed em.

Also considering Lund, $200, but they offer free revisions for modifications you do like Bama does.

I'm pretty sure you can adjust the limiter in the beginning of the tune where it asks if you want to "adjust for changes" or something like that. I saw "speed limiter" in there as one of the options.

What shift setting or do you have manual?

I was using the performance 93 when I had issues, I swapped to R93 and did a couple 0-60 and I am pretty sure I solved it.. And my car wasn't surging so much.. So maybe it's the auto relearn or maybe it was a bad tune.. On a free day I will data log it

I called AM for Datalog instructions, and the rep asked what the problem was. I explained the bog-down when the car reached 5th/6th gears. The rep dismissed it saying that it was normal since 5th and 6th gears are overdrive gears and the true acceleration occurs in 1 through 4.

I don't know if I have a problem or not. 1 through 4 are excellent. I'm just not convinced by the rep's explaination, yet it does make some sense.

I'll just have to find shorter on-ramps so I only accelerate through 4 gears.

I gave up on BAMA they are ridiculous. I am tired of waiting for answers and tunes. I finally got MPT and couldn't be happier. With MPT i did not even feel the need to log and send back the data for review. With BAMA even if you log and send the data you don't get reply for weeks. Its been about a month or more i bought a tuner and i still don't have a correct working tune from BAMA. AM is excellent but BAMA is just ridiculous now.

No. While 5 and 6 are overdrive hears, RPMs should be steady throughout. There's no reason for your hesitation. But trying to accelerate in 6th isn't gonna happen anyways. If I put the pedal to the floor in 6th gear, RPMs and speed very slowly creep up, no hesitation or a/f problems.

This is correct. My car has 660 RWHP and is a manual, when shifting into 6th, the car completely falls on its face. After 4th gear these cars definitely struggle, 5th isn't as bad as 6th.

We can absolutely look into this further for you and see what we can come up with. The Bama team would be happy to help. Shoot me a PM with your order number included and I'll gladly have our head tuning specialist reach out to you!

Hope this helps.
