2014 Water Leak

Most people know that the 05-09 mustangs had the passenger side water leak. There was a TSB about it. Most people think Ford fixed the problem but they didn't. I just got my 2014 3 days ago and just found out it leaks as well. Pissed off is an understatement for me right now. So, check your cars whenever it rains. I spent over. $2,000 trying to fix the leak in my 06 and now my new 14 does the same thing. I've always liked Ford but I'm becoming more of a Camaro person every time it rains.

If you take off the panel right next to the SJB on the passenger side. It's coming from the top of where the A- pillar meets the dash. Feel underneath your carpet and the multi colored insulation might be wet. The leak comes from right above SJB

The multi colored insulation stuff is what is damp. The 3rd pic is looking up into the dash if you put your head under the dash by the SJB and just look up. The 4th pic is DampRid and it sucks the moisture out of the air and helps prevent mildew/gets rid of mildew smell. I used it in my 06 when it leaked and had no mildew smell.

Well... At least your Mustang starts up. Chevy can't even figure out an ignition system in these new slowmaros

Haha yeah that is true. I called Ford as soon as I found out. My heart dropped and I could hardly talk I was so mad. I finally got my dream car exactly how I wanted it with a manual transmission and then it has to leak.

Yeah, I live in SW Florida so we have been getting a lot of rain as well. Just feeling the top of the carpet isn't enough. You need to pull that panel away and try to find water. I only felt a little but enough for it to potentially rust the metal

I haven't had any issues with leaking on mine. Granted it's an '11. Any holes or chunks in your weather stripping on the door frame?

Not that I can see or tell. I took the cowel off tonight to see if the grommets are not sealed. Apparently Ford now sprays over the heat sealed cowel grommets with paint and clear coat. The window weather stripping should be fine considering the car is only 4 months old. I was really hoping the leak was gone… I’m taking it to my dealership in the morning and if it’s still leaking after 3 trips, I’m gonna lemon it.

UPDATE: Bringing car to dealer Monday. Meanwhile, it's down pouring. The 1st photo is taken above SJB and 2nd is underneath SJB. Carpet is dry but it's clearly leaking underneath carpet.

Yeah, it's too bad it's a 4 day old car. It's even starting to rust a little inside

UPDATE: Dealer found leak. I showed them my pics of where it was coming in from. They said it was the cowl seam and so they applied sealer to cowl seam and the 10 grommets. They retested it and found no leaks. Hopefully there's no more water leak problems.
