I don't believe that the V8's are going to disappear. I just think that the technology is going to gear more towards trying to make more power out of the smaller engines.
Getting rid of V8's is like America selling out.

I sure hope not

I DRINK A V8 EVERY MORNING

To be serious, I think america will always have a V8 engine available in their cars and trucks. Of course there will be four cylinders and V6 engines which are good but the V8 is like apple pie and fire arms.

V8's are not going anywhere.
Compare the amount of v8s cars on the road in the 70s compared to today, other than the small hand full of V8 cars currently made its down about 80% from then. Its not opinion just fact. Its coming, ford IMO is being pro active to make sure that the mustang name plate will live on.

Don't forget though that back in the 70's, the muscle car era was just winding down. V8's were still everywhere. Completely different today.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. But from what I've been reading, the 5.0 cannot handle much in the way of 650hp or more without porting and forging the motor. It's one of the best motors the mustang has had over the years granted. So, supercharging a 5.0 And getting it to 650hp, you've hit your ceiling, until you forge everything and swap everything out. Been seeing a lot of people blowing, literally, their 5.0s because of too much boost, or too much power and not enough supporting system. Same can be said for the 6, just with less hp. It's all in a matter of how fast you wanna go, and how much you're willing to spend!!

+1, even in the 80s ford alone had the ford Ltd, Thunderbird,Cougar,Capri, Crown Vic, Mustang and probably a couple more with a V8 option, as compared to 2014 they have the mustang,......... I'd hate to see the V8 go way of the dinosaur but........

Supercharged 3.7 V6 vs. 5.0 T

I have had a boLted on v6 with 3:31 and now have a supercharged roush stage 2. They are both awesome. For me I just wanted more and I wanted the 5.0 to begin with and I settled on the 3.7. I don't regret buying the 3.7 one bit. I always wanted to make a car my own and I did. I then went above the gt and got the roush. I didn't get the stage 3 due to not wanting the extra $ attached to the extras. I just wanted the supercharger. So I did that on my own. And saved a few G's in the process as i loved the roush look and have a legit stage 2/sleeper car. I have not driven a pro charged v6 but was very close to pro charging it. I loved the styling of the roush and got a food deal so I got the wife's permission and upgraded. Either way do what makes you happy. a mustang is a mustang so respect either way.

No on paper a 11-12 does but on a dyno/ on a tracl they do not.
The 11 -12's were under rated.
