Engine mods in v6 auto.

Is it really worth it to put engine mods in a v6 automatic?? i.e: tune, cai, etc etc? Just wanted to see peoples inputs or thoughts on the subject.

Hmm.. from everything I've heard and seen autos are faster because they shift faster. Could be wrong though.

Stock for stock no.
All depends on the tune.
The mt-82 has been 9's so it just depends

I just felt like there was no point due to it being automatic, thanks for clearing the air! Now I just need a better job to afford all these parts

Interesting, thanks for clearing that up. My mpt tune with race setting shifts extremely quick. It actually jerks the car a little it shifts so fast. So I guess in a case like that against a manual it could be a tiny bit faster.

I agree with everyone else. Make it yours and mod it up. Watch your wallet shrink too..

To each their own. Everyone had different reasons why they bought a Auto or Manual. I am just plain lazy, so I bought a Auto.

Absolutely not , I drive a manual but that's just my choice and wasn't performance related, autos kick *** also and in fact you can go more aggressive when it comes to rear gear selections! I've lightly modded mine and can tell you it makes quite a big difference. My first mod should have been gears and tuner, hands down the best and biggest noticeable difference in my car. Don't start with the cold air intake it will give you 0 performance.

My '14 3.7 is a closer model to the original muscle cars of the 60's (GTO, Road Runner, etc) than the 5.0 or any other car. A base V6 with 305HP is as close as it gets to nostalgia.... and I was there!

Shoot, my car is a 14' auto/selectshift. That select shift is pretty damn cool, but I drive in regular auto most of the time. About to get my tuner in too, hope it's really worth the money!

Once you start it's hard to stop. The nice thing about the stang is the sky's the limit with what you can do to it. Go for it...

Bama is pretty good, but for an auto I would suggest mpt. their shifts are much firmer/quicker, which is actually better for your transmission.

Does it change both the Drive mode and the Sport mode?
