I know you already saw mine but maybe if a few others are on the fence about it this will give them an idea of looks. If you do buy them and have the factory wheels then buy the spacers(5/16) as well. The guy at AM told me in order for them to have enough clearance with factory wheels that I would need them. I like the look of them, easy install, could always remove and sell if you don't like them. Hope this helps!

It looks great on yours but your mustang is red. I would like to see how it looks on a blacked out mustang. Does it stand out too much etc etc.

and yes i am blaming you for making me spend $200 lol !

Caliper covers look cheesy IMO, i'd just paint them red.... Or you know get a big brake kit, but thats a bit more expensive lol.

Don't forget about the trapped in heat, so if you like to use your brakes a lot or maybe do an autocross they will trap heat in.

Well paint is usually permanent, i dont have a paint gun and honestly i like the fact that i can remove it if i dont want/like it.

I'm with you on that. Everyone has their own opinion and reasons. I also felt like painting the calipers was a little to permanent and not as smooth looking. That's just my opinion though. I do like the option of a big brake system though, maybe someday down the road.

Get BLACK ones

I would just go for the black ones for your Black Mustang. I have the red ones but my car is red.
They do cover up the soooooo ugly calipers. They prevent a lot of brake dust from forming on your wheels and they also have the benefit of keeping your calipers cooler.

Black ones on your car won't stand out but they will be admired and noticed.

+1 on if you are spending $200 for covers to spend the extra $ for big brakes. idk how much they cost but at least you can say it's a performance mod. Even if you don't need it they'll look cooler and give you cred

You don't need a paint gun bro. You go to autozone, or any other car store and buy a can of high temp red paint. It's just spray paint that can with stand higher temperatures. I did mine and it only took an hour and a half. And they came out pretty decent!

Paint don't do it

Take an """UGLY""" Caliper.
**** Paint it ********
You sill have an ugly caliper
But it will be painted.

It's not like I have NOT seen painted ugly caliper before.

My car has won two Peoples choice awards with the covers. The show were where the other Mustang and Ford people in the shows were the one's voting. They must have liked the covers or I would not have had the votes.

Of course I would love to have brembo's or a big brake set with nice looking finished calipers but the lack of money prevents that until I can hit the Lotto.

Well Ronnie, I doubt the covers won you the awards...you have a nice car, beautiful paint, and it shows great. The brake covers, they are not what are winning you the awards. I'll bet if they were removed, you'd still win an award or two.

I know that

I'm just saying that there is nothing wrong with putting the covers on any Mustang. Painting the calipers look OK when first doing it but as you know, When the brake dust settles on them you are back to having ugly calipers unless you keep after them """OFTEN"""
Say, Bucko-- How about GIVING ME $4,000 bucks so I can get a big brake set and a few other things for my Mustang. You know if I hit the Lotto I'll pay you back with interest.
Oh heck, Make it $12,000 so I can also get a Pro-Charger and Drive shaft.
The Daytona Flea Market cruise in is this Saturday July fifth so you can bring me a check if you come over. 9 to 1
Ronnie

PS: I spent all my $$$$ buying votes. Ha ! Ha !

Painted Calipers (12 years old and still look pretty good). Going to redo them the same color as my car. Or like a Steel Blue.

BTW, the covers do NOT hold in the heat. Also, there will be a decrease in brake dust on the wheels.

I like how the covers look, but $200 for covers is way to much money, you better safe that for better brakes, i have seen gt500 kits for $700-800 on ebay.

Also you can get covers on ebay for about $30, and they will seen as good as those $200 ones.

I am planning to get a set of GT front calipers and rears (which are the same as the v6) then have them ceramic coated red or black. That way I can just put them on and go.

The one's I got from::: AMERICAN MUSCLE:::

They are extremely high quality Aluminum and Powder coated red. They were bought and installed in 2011 and still look like brand spanking new.
My car is a Mustang Club of America and came with 18 inch wheels so fitting was no problem at all.

Ronnie,
Ever think about painted mirror covers? They make a big difference over the generic OEM black ones. It would be a nice touch to an already good looking ride. Might secure that third award!! Lol

True, all personal preference. IMO I find they don't stand out but just flow better with the cars color.

Hi Mike

I want them bad. ( For a long time) but can't seem to get up the money. You are right about them looking good.
I would really like the replacement painted mirrors but I'm sure that won't happen. ( UNLESS I CAN JUST HIT THE LOTTO) Buying one ticket a month I don't think that will happen either.
