Mustang sport shift (shift at 3000 rpm's ?)

Is it true that around 3000 rpm's is a good time to shift my car into any gear. I was just wondering what other "sport shift" owners have learned from experience.

Depends on what you are trying to do. If you are trying to be fast. Shift higher (almost red line or red line)
Fuel efficiency I will go for around 2.5k or maybe 2k.

For my set up.. 2.5k is the sweet spot to cruise efficiently.. If I am feeling the need for speed I'm looking anywhere between 4-6 anything beyond that and I'm hauling A$$ lol.. I usually shift around the 3k mark so that is perfectly fine.. But don't be afraid to wait a little, these cars have a lot of power at the higher end of the band.. And your car won't let you damage it.. In defense it will switch gears to protect the motor

I have a 14' V6 with the Sport Shift and I've played with it for quite some time. I've come to determine that 3k or more RPMs is more than fine being it's a high RPM motor. I sometimes shift at 4k-4.5k and still achieve pretty good mileage, for where it's at lol.

My problem with shifting so high in RPM's is that before I know it I'm going 60 in 3rd gear like nothing lol I love these mustangs

3K rpm is a perfect shift point, but only for semi-aggressive driving, say you want to hear that nice exhaust set up you got without going full d-bag. BUT it will eat your milage. I got 13-14 mpg city driving like that lol.

2K-2.5K is perfect for just regular normal driving, and it'll keep your rated 19/30 mpg. To me, shifting at that speed sounds GLORIOUS with my Pypes. I let off the gas a bit before I shift and I get that orgasmic gurgle from the exhaust that the 5.0s have.
